Manuel Margot struck out. He doesn't want to get traded to the Phillies.

Manuel Margot struck out. All hail Jarrett Miller, the man who slayed the streak. Manuel flied out in his first AB, marking the 69th (and final) straight PA without a K to start this season. According to our estimable Eric Van, the odds of that happening for an average A+ hitter are approximately 1,308,453 to 1. Of course, stretching back to last regular season, the streak goes up to 87 straight PAs. I feel comfortable in calling this not only the greatest feat in sports history, but quite possibly the finest achievement mankind has ever produced. So congrats, Manuel!

Trey Ball can you pitch better please.
Come on, I'm asking nicely.

Maybe if you're day trading prospects. But these guys are long term investments. You should relize there will some volatility in their performance - especially someone like Ball.

Cold hard fact? Good to know. His trade stock was higher last year? Sox have probably the worst pitching staff going right now. Would love to try center a package around Owens to go after Hamels but he is making it tough.

Yeah, and I'd love to try center a package around my used copy of Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare and 2 cans of pringles for Summer Glau. However, just like in your trade scenario, I guess the asking price was always a tad higher.

Manuel Margot struck out. Was it on a called third strike? If so, it's most likely a bad call by the ump.

It's only 45 PA, but Keury De La Cruz has 6 BB and 5 SO and is at .282 / .378 / .564, including .286 / .412 / .429 vs. LHP.
Ordinarily you'd call that meaningless, but last year, in 275 PA, he had 14 BB and 55 SO, and hit .209 / .232 / .242 vs. LHP.
The improvement in BB% is statistically significant (p = .03, which drops to < .02 if you compare to his previous 3 years combined).
