“@ianmbrowne: Fractured hand for Hanigan. Surgery. Not good for the Red Sox who are already without Vazquez.”
Salty?

I sure hope that they don't bring Salty back who can't even throw the ball back to the pitcher.

Sounds like #RedSox will, in fact, call up Blake Swihart.

Well at least there's a silver lining to an otherwise disappointing night. Good luck to Blake. Here's to a long and successful career.

Yeah I mean that's not the first time Hanigan got a ball to the hand this season.

When was the last time a team lost both it's starting catchers for a majority/all of the season less than a month into said season?

Probably shouldn't have said "at all" but the lack of power concerns me a bit. 47% GB rate so far, but 21% LD is good. Probably better than Leon but I just would prefer not to rush him and risk breaking his confidence.

Mr. Play It Safe was afraid to fly He packed his suitcase and kissed his kids goodbye He waited his whole damn life to take that flight And as the plane crashed down he thought "Well isn't this nice..." And isn't it ironic... don't you think ...

Pronunciation: Swee-hart or SwI-hart? They have a pronunciation guide for prospects on their player pages. It's all the way at the bottom in the additional player information section. It looks like its the latter for Swihart.

They have a pronunciation guide for prospects on their player pages. Yeah but it's not always useful since it doesn't use a phonetic alphabet. I for one have no idea how to pronounce "SWIE". Does it rhyme with "pixie"? "Prairie"? "Rookie"? Or does it rhyme with "Pie"?

The Red Sox should act like they have high blood pressure and avoid all things salty.
Good luck to Swihart.

I looked up "pie" on dictionary.com and they say it's "payh" which I find even more confusing. On Miriam Webster they say "pi" (with the horizontal line over the i). Best way to do it though is to specify what it rhymes with. For the word in question, "pie", it obviously rhymes with the first syllable of Blake's name.
