We've confirmed with Eddie Romero what we already knew: the Red Sox are fielding two DSL teams this year. Jonathan Singer got in touch with Eddie and James Dunne wrote up a nice piece on the story here: news.soxprospects.com/2015/05/red-sox-to-field-two-dsl-teams-for.htmlFor reference, Sox had 2 DSL affiliates in 2003, and had a second affiliate (or part of one) in the VSL at various points from 1999-2005. I get the feeling based on Eddie's comments and based on how the rosters look that this will last for no more than a couple years. Looks like a one-time boom that they needed a second team to accommodate.
