Jantzen Witte now has 33 hits on the year, 9 more then anyone else on the team. Not sure if that speaks more to how good hes been or how mediocre the rest of the roster is. Speaks to the fact that he, Asuaje, and Miller have been the only healthy everyday players. Counting stats are nearly useless in the minors. You'll want to stick with the rate stats, trust me.

Ya i honestly dont follow Portland enough to know that as they are probably the weakest in the Sox farm in terms of potential prospects. Still Witte has been impressive and under the radar a bit.

Tzu-Wei Lin is having a very nice Month so far: 1.061 OPS so far, his glove at SS (Vinicio, who's a real good SS is moved to 2nd base when they're both on the field) and speed take a lot of pressure off his bat.

Well he is hitting something like .360 so make your own judgment. He appears to be quite a good hitter for average but without a lot of power. He is not wet behind the ears either. Does that play for the Sox down the road?

Does that play for the Sox down the road? Jantzen Witte: solid ballplayer. He's a right-handed version of Daniel Nava. Limited on defense. No speed. No real power. But can hit the cover off the ball against below-average pitching. I think the "left-handed version" tends to be more valuable than the right-handed kind.

Lin has good defensive tools, but he's been very, very error prone. He's definitely not in the category of someone like Marrero, Iglesias, or even Guerra who need only to provide token offensive contributions to be a major leaguer. Lin is either going to need to become more sure-handed or hit a lot more.

Has anyone here seen Light more than once live since he's gone to the pen? Just wondering how his velo is and the movement on his FB.

Ya i honestly dont follow Portland enough to know that as they are probably the weakest in the Sox farm in terms of potential prospects. Still Witte has been impressive and under the radar a bit. I mean, you can just go to the stat page and sort by plate appearances. That's all I did.

Just making sure, but do you mean the month that we're seven days into, and in which he has played six games? And Vinicio is a JAG at this point. The body just never got any bigger. Couldn't have seen that coming when they signed him. He's only even playing because Rijo is hurt.
