Ben Moore has hit in Rookie ball and is continuing to hit in Greenville. I can't find a scouting report on him. Does he have projectable catching skills?

The kid can hit! Strongly put together with a decent arm. I liked him and Devon Fisher as the GCL catchers last year. Both have some potential.

Concur that he can hit. At the plate, he's probably ready for Salem, but will stay in Greenville to work on his defense.

Th Sox must have had extreme of confidence in his hitting ability drafting him in the 8th round as a man without a position. He moved from the outfield in college to a very demanding position behind the plate?

I don't think that's much of a gamble in the 8th round.

Kevin Youkilis was drafted in the 8th round. On the other hand so was Senquez Golson who was an extreme project.

Kevin Youkilis was drafted in the 8th round. On the other hand so was Senquez Golson who was an extreme project. And so were Forrestt Allday, Nathan Minnich, Mathew Price, Shannon Wilkerson, Mike Lee, Adam Mills, Rafael Cabreja, JT Zink, Kyle Bono, Lee Curtis, Brandon Moss, Brian Adams, Andrew Heimbach, Fred Silverthorn, Andy Hazlett, Justin Duchscherer and Luis Cardona in the last 20 years. If there was a cogent point in your post about Ben Moore, other than the trivia of Moore being drafted in the same round as Golson and Youkilis, I'd love to know what it was. Otherwise, I don't see the connection, especially given the changes in draft structure over the years.

I also wouldn't call him a man without a position. He was moved to catcher immediately and he had played there earlier in his college career.
