Lets go Red Sox, lets turn the corner here. We are not playing to our ability Offensively. I expect us to play much better against the Angels.

Garrett Richards and two lefties. I hope everyone here has plans for the weekend.

Gordon Edes speculates on ESPN Boston that Castillo will be in uniform tonight (reads to me more like wishful thinking on his part than it does any actual inside information). Not sure what point that would serve unless Farrell is directed to sit Victorino.

DL Hanley. Call up Castillo. LF Castillo for a spell. Then when Hanley is back...if Nap isn't hitting still...Hanley at 1B...

I predict 20+ very depressed pages about the franchise. Thanks Brady!

Castillo is at Fenway

So far, it's based on this: Tim Britton ?@timbritton 4m4 minutes ago Rusney Castillo's car is at Fenway Park, so it's reasonable to infer he is too. I mean, he could just be letting Victorino borrow it.

Castillo not a savior but a GREAT place to start with a team that can't hit lefties at all!

It's so weird that they have babied Castillo so much more than any of the prospects.

Jared Carrabis ?@jared_Carrabis 12m12 minutes ago Per @timbritton, Rusney Castillo's car is at Fenway. Would make sense, because I'm hearing JBJ has been sent down.

Will Rusney crash into the Pesky Pole first, or do the Torji flip into the bullpen?? Vic will strain his oblique running out to check. Nava will mid-play a Trout fly ball into an inside the Parker. See what happens if you keep cable.

It's so weird that they have babied Castillo so much more than any of the prospects. Well considering that he's injured his thumb, oblique, and shoulder since October, isn't it clear why?

CF Betts 2B Pedroia DH Ortiz LF Ramirez SS Bogaerts 1B Napoli 3B Holt RF Castillo C Swihart
RHP Porcello

So no Pablo is kind of a bummer, but we finally got Rusney. And while Bogaerts fifth certainly isn't ideal, better to have him ahead of Napoli right now.

So hopefully, calling up the Cuban will have the same effect it had for the Dodgers when they called up Puig in 2013.

I like Castillo but Victorino hasn't been terrible lately somehow. Victorino has a 104 wRC+ on the season and Steamer projects Castillo to hit to a ... 104 wRC+ the rest of the season. Both players seem super frail and injury prone so not really expecting a huge jump here.

“@peteabe: Farrell said there will be a rotation in RF and CF with Betts, Castillo and Victorino. For now, Victorino is day to day.”
