Happy Anderson Espinoza Day. I've put my glasses on and think the 2020 Sox are going to be a wagon.

Rough with both Kopech and Buttrey pitching the same day. Would like to watch both and be able to give full attention to both when watching.

Based on his former Alabama coach on Twitter (and he replied to it, so prob legit), Ben Moore is undergoing knee surgery on his ACL and meniscus today.

espinoza 4 ip 7 hits 4 runs 1 earned 0 walks 7 ks That there is a DSL line. B+ DSL line. An A+ DSL line would be like, 4 IP, 6 hits, 5 runs, 1 earned, 4 walks, 9 strikeouts.

Imo, for a truly A+ DSL line you need more runs allowed than combined hits and walks.
Something like 4IP, 1H, 5R, 1ER, 3BB, 7K

Hard to ask more of Ty Buttrey this year. 5IP , just 3H, 3K's and no walks. No runs either. Solid, steady performance in High A since his promotion.

Nice command of his FB tonight also thru 6, keeping W-S off balance with his curve and shows no ill effects when has to go away from the full wind up with men on base.

Every time people bring up the craziness of the DSL I remember this guy. Somehow they kept throwing him out there.

Cecchini pissed that Shaw leapfrogged him, hits two dingers tonight. 43 PA since June 6, .268 / .302 / .585. He was .182 / .262 / .243 in 165 PA before that.

Margot was hitting .362 / .391 / .586 in 15 games (64 PA) on April 26.
He then hit .138 / .203 / .138 in 16 games (65 PA) sandwiched around his 20 missed injury days (12 before and 4 after).
In 13 games since he apparently got the rust off, he's at .340 / .375 / .491 in 56 PA.

espinoza 4 ip 7 hits 4 runs 1 earned 0 walks 7 ks That there is a DSL line. And the first run that scored was unearned because a baserunner, who had reached on an infield hit to 3rd, tried to go from first to third on a "sharp groundball" to 3B, and would have been out had the 3B not misplayed the throw (presumably from the SS. Rough first two balls in play for Stanley Espinal.)

Seriously though, I can only imagine how much of an abomination this game was to watch.
Sox scored 25 runs on 23 hits (3 2b, 3 3b, 0 hr), 5 errors, (somehow just) 4 walks, 3 HBP, 5 wild pitches, 4 steals, and 2 SF. Every starter scored and drove in at least one run.
Also the opposing pitcher was named Xavier Javier which is amazing. I really hope his first name is pronounced ZAH-vee-air so that it rhymes.
As for Espinoza, sounds like the defense was the reason he gave up 7 hits. 2 infield singles in the first. Looks like he tired a bit in the fourth. Should have had 2 outs (leadoff batter reached when the catcher made an error on a dropped strike 3) when he gave up a pair of singles and a double.
My interpretation of the play that Eric described is that it was like a hot smash to the 3B, he misplayed it but it was hit hard enough they didn't give him an error, and that he really really stupidly still tried to make the play at first, allowing the runner that was at first to advance to third and the batter-runner to advance to second. Either that or they were just trying really hard to not give him an error when they should have.
