Le sigh. Just when you thought he was going to get reinstated and we'd be done with this nonsense. Good grief.

I still think he should be in the hall of fame. Even if he bet to lose, he still put up the numbers to get in. The hall of fame is meant for those who've excelled at the sport, which he did. He should be banned for life from baseball, but his on the field accomplishments should be enshrined.
It's hypocritical to say someone who gambled, which has no impact on the on-the-field product (unless he bets to lose) is worthy of a life-time ban from the hall, but steroid users who actually cheat the game are one step closer to being put in.
Again, if he bet to lose, he only hurts his own chances to get into the hall. That and he's just one man on the field.
For the record, I'm for both Pete Rose and steroid guys in getting in.

I can't really justify keeping Rose out of the HOF but given what a loathsome person he is, I'm ok with it.

I don't really care. His accomplishments warrant his enshrinement, but at this point I'm sick of hearing about it. Put him in the shoeless joe Jackson category of "should've beens" and call it good.
