Jim Palmer: "I knew Yaz when he was young, and at the end of his career. You couldn't fool him until he was 38, 39, like Ortiz is now. The bat does slow down and then you start guessing."

Stop batting David Ortiz 4th.... You really do like to look for reasons to complain, don't you?

Stop batting David Ortiz 4th.... Seriously, just spend a few minutes to learn the difference between RH pitchers and LH pitchers.

I miss Hanigan as much as his mom did when he went to college.
And Victorino for that matter, as long as we keep Bradley and Castillo in AAA.

... If they lose tonight it's the last nail in this year's coffin. I'm pretty sure there'll be more nails. Plenty of nails.

I know not ducking for cover when a 95 MPH FB is coming at you is easier said then done. But gonna need Leon to armor up and lean into a couple of those.
Get that OBP up kid.

Brockstar made that play as if he'd been a 1B all his life. Very nice.

Brockstar made that play as if he'd been a 1B all his life. Very nice. I really, really hope this kid makes it to the All-Star game somehow. He's at least adequate at seven different defensive positions while also leading the team in wRC+. I'm worried that he has the type of positional profile that would tend to get overlooked in voting, but he deserves the recognition. Also, that only happens to this team. Xander smokes the ball... Right off of Hanley's wrist. What the hell.

Well line drive off Hanley's wrist. Thats not good. Odds that this will be a big inning for Baltimore, Hanley will have a broken bone, and we can put 2015 to bed?

Another night, another mediocre pitcher the Red Sox are making look like an ace.

I don't mean to imply anything here, but does anybody else think JBJ either makes that catch or guns the runner down at the plate?

@timbritton: Brian Johnson collides with a runner as he attempts to cover 1B, and he's coming out of the game. Leaving under his own power.

I don't mean it as a shot at Mookie - there are several very good defensive CFs who can't touch JBJ. Just a thought that occurred to me.

Talk about about bad BABIP luck... Not only does it lead to an out, but it injured a player.

Ok let's see how many outfielders can break bones in their hands in the span of a half hour.
