Would be unsurprised if Reyes doesn't pitch today in order to save him for Sunday's All-Star Game. Ryan Oduber, Darwinson Hernandez, and Angel Padron would all be candidates to take the start instead.

Anyone else thinking the Hernandez move to Pawtucket will eventually land Guerra in Salem? I assume either Lin or Vinicio will be promoted to Portland to take Hernandez' spot there thus leaving an opening at SS in Salem. Also note that Guerra was given a suspect off day yesterday despite having one on Monday...

Would also guess we'll see Moncada promoted somewhat soon, but less of a spot at Salem because of Rijo. Perhaps he could try 3B (Vinicio is listed there now), though Red Sox probably don't want him to switch positions after finding such a solid offensive groove.

I don't think so, although it's possible. Dubon and Lin were splitting time at short. This allows Dubon to play there full-time. Much more likely, IMO, that Moncada is promoted. I wouldn't call yesterday a "suspect day off." Minor leaguers get a lot of days off. This one just happened to come after an off-day. FWIW, Kraus was sent to Salem as the counter-move for Lin, so Salem's roster is full. Guerra may get promoted, but it's not in the offing.

Denyi Reyes did in fact pitch: 5IP, 0H, 0R, 0BB, 5K (48IP without a BB) Lorenzo Cedrola: 4-5, 3B, RBI, SB www.dominicansummerleague.com/www/phocadownload/NCAA-PITT-BOS2-JUL-16-15.txt-- As did Roniel Raudes: 5IP, 4H, 2ER, 0BB, 9K Hemerson Serven: 3-5, 2B, RBI, K Raudes gave up a HR to Nelson Gomez who already has 9(!) HR.

Danny Mars up to Greenville from the GCL. He's in the lineup playing RF and batting 8th.

So when is Espinoza filling Kopech's spot in the Greenville rotation? Or is he going straight to Boston?

First pitch Moncada sees tonight he rips out to the 420 sign for a ground rule double. Easy power.

Any chance Swihart is still in New Hampshire on Saturday?

Devers with a RBI single off the monster to score Moncada. I hope I type that sentence many more times in my life.

Longhi is a homer from a cycle in the 5th.
Multi hit games already for Moncada, Devers, and Guerra as well.

I predict by this time next year Moncada will be the #1 prospect in baseball.

Guerra with HR #12.
Both Guerra and Longhi were 1 hit from the cycle (3B and HR, respectively).

Chavis, Devers, and Longhi with hits to score one more, then Guerra with a 3-run homer to turn it into a laugher. Man, what a team.

Nava with two right-handed RBI knocks tonight, the second a 3-run homer. Ready to take over first base with the big club?

Moncada 2/5, 2B, and his post-ASB OPS goes down.

Gomez, a 16-year-old righthanded hitter, generates some of the best raw power in the class from his strong 6-foot-2, 210-pound frame. He should start out at third base, though some scouts wonder whether he will end up at first base. Gomez trained with Victor Baez and played in the Dominican Prospect League, with an appearance at Wrigley Field last August to play in the Under Armour All-America game.
