This time made hotel reservations and all.. Fort Myers bound all weekend, starting 1st thing in the morning. Tomorrow and heading to Port Charlotte for Monday's game vs the Rays, which is only 45 minutes north of The Fort.
Isn't Espinoza scheduled to pitch on Monday? Was wanting to leave on Tuesday, but *could* stay if he goes that day at home.
Taking a GOOD camera and will get some pics also.

I'm at the pawsox game in Durham where they lead 7-0 after 2 1/2. JBJ hr in first was fly to lcf about 380 feet LHH Hernandez in his 2nd game hiit a fly ball 2b off lcf "monster" and then lined a hr to strait away RF. Kelly throwing 97,99, no probs, but Berry and Castillo made sliding catches on dying quails.

Hernandez just can't stop, won't stop. If we get anything out of him it's gravy considering who we sent out to get him.

Drive batters have been beaned four times to go with three walks, five hits, and one reached on error.
Edit: Make that four walks.

Was going to be great anyway to be able to see Espinoza and Pennington, the 2 guys was most interested in seeing pitch. Talk about luck of timing!

Has anyone seen this Hernandez kid play? The guy is on fire.
Take a look at the last few tweets from the SoxProspects staff: Benintendi triples, Hernandez and JBJ go yard, Ian praising Guerra defense and Moncada swing... This is a fun system to follow and I'm very excited for the next five to ten years of Red Sox baseball.

Hernandez third ab is vs a lhrp and he goes the other way for a ground ball single in the SS hole for his third hit
The hr off Kelly was a towering drive to lcf over the deepest part of their monster.
Had trouble with control in 5th but got through it. Hit 100 on the stadium gun.

JBJ 2nd hr is towering drive to lcf that got out fast. Really spanked. Also off Lhrp. Who maybe is not good. .

Not to mention that with Hernandez getting the call to the Pawsox, Lin finally gets the chance to advance to Portland. He's the one am curious to see how well performs against a bit better pitching over the last month and a half of the season.

JBj's lone out was a hard sinking line drive that the cf made a diving catch of. Nava who is not playing protested that it was trapped (but it wasn't)

In all levels from Greenvile to the major league team there is an intriguing young shortstop. Bogaerts, Marrero and Hernandez, Lin, Dubon and Guerra. All of them should be able to stick at the position long term according to scouting reports.

Marco could be a great option as a utility player in the next couple of years. We have to believe that some of this hitting is real, given his young age at such an advanced level. Hope he gets some time at other positions during the next year or so. You can never have too many Holts.

... We have to believe that some of this hitting is real, given his (add: Marco) young age at such an advanced level … 9 walks on the year is what makes me think it isn't real. That, and his track record. But I'm open to being convinced otherwise.

The depth of prospects for position players is pretty amazing right now for this system. Pitching is lagging behind a bit following the Johnson/Rodriguez/Owens grouping. Kopech and Espinoza are promising, but still young and raw with plenty of bust potential. That's just being nitpicky considering the state of the system and young impact of the major league squad.

Nava who is not playing protested that it was trapped (but it wasn't) Oops forgot he grounded out to 1st in the 2nd And now he walks on 4 pitches to load bases for Castillo [edit: who tries to hit a gs on every swing and strikes out]
