Haha, I love JBJ's swagger in the outfield. He's good out there and he knows it.

Owens hacking away. Love it. Looks like he is having fun. Right up until he saw a nasty curveball.

Looked hilarious when he lost his helmet.

Too many deep counts. Not wild exactly, but a lot of pitches just a couple inches off of a corner.

I guess neither DRS nor UZR includes "cutting off throws you shouldn't".

Pretty sloppy play by both Mookie (not charging hard enough) and Bogaerts there. No way a run should have scored on that.

Two bad plays and the only guy who's stats are hurt is Owens.
Harvey is tough enough. No need to help him.

If Owens wants better stats he should swing at the fastballs right down the middle he's likely to get in 3-0 counts. That would affect stats much more meaningful than his W-L record too.

Jesus Christ.
"Rusney Castillo" is probably the best argument for having JBJ be the RF next year.

Good job by Castillo, tricking Wright into making a bad try for home. Too bad Ortiz and Swihart couldn't execute...

I mean I hear you - if I was Owens, a 3-0 pitch would be the one time I'd be pretty comfortable taking a healthy hack. But I wouldn't be comfortable being a rookie and explicitly ignoring my coaches orders. So if you're gonna assign fault for it, it shouldn't go to Owens.

I find Owens enormously frustrating to watch pitch, especially with runners on. Just because there is a runner on first, there is no rule that says you have to throw over there. Also, just because you get ahead of the batter 0-2, there is no rule that says you need to "waste" a couple of pitches hoping he'll chase; just go ahead and get him out, please.

Just because there is a runner on first, there is no rule that says you have to throw over there. Clay Buchholz disagrees.

If Clay B ever pitches against Dice K, don't watch. I see a stroke coming.

On replay: that was probably the best pitch to hit that Bradley will ever see in his career. That was a hanging slurve where he could extend his arms. Hitting a home run is never easy and punishing bad pitches is what good hitters should do, but if I was on metsprospects.com right now I'd be furious with Verrett for throwing that meatball.

It's easy to say this while Ogando is struggling, but Ross has been one of our best relievers lately. Why only give him one batter?

Next you can thank Ogando and Tory for losing this one.

Next you can thank Ogando and Tory for losing this one. For anyone playing the "guess the score based on the rantings and ravings of the gameday thread" game, spoiler time: this was posted in the seventh inning of a game the Red Sox were winning 3-2.
