After adding another pitcher today the Dodger's have, like, 700 starting pitchers on their roster; I wonder if they're looking to trade someone like Billingsley (probably not), or Capuano? And would any of the pitchers they could reasonably be looking to move be a decent fit for the Red Sox?
Maybe a Brentz/Cecchini level prospect or two for Capuano? (I really have no idea what someone like Capuano's value would be, so maybe I'm way off)

Some tweets say Capuano is available but I would only want him if it's cheap. Pitchers park vs crappy lineups out in the west. Not to mention even the road parks are pitcher freindly outside of the Rockies.

capuano would not post an ERA under 5.00 in boston. not worth trading two prospects for him

Capuano is paid $6m in 2013 with an $8m mutual option for 2014 and a $1m buyout. He's old (34) and a soft tosser (averages 88 mph fastball) but has decent strikeout and walk rates and has posted similar or better peripherals (3.82 xFIP the last three years) than two guys the Red Sox are pursuing who are of similar age and velocity-- Kyle Lohse (4.14 xFIP, 34 years old, 89.5 mph) and Ryan Dempster (3.74 xFIP, 35 years old, 89.6 mph).
If it's basically just a salary dump and no significant prospects are required, I don't see why the Red Sox shouldn't be interested in Capuano. One year and $7m sounds a lot better than three years at $10m+ annually for Dempster and Lohse. Granted, I have no idea why the Red Sox are pursuing Dempster or (especially) Lohse, but if you're looking for a veteran back-of-the-rotation starter, you can do a lot worse than Capuano. I'm not giving up Brentz or Cecchini, but if the Dodgers accept a deal centered around major-league-ready spare parts (Aceves, Melancon, Breslow, Nava, etc.) and/or lower-tier prospects (Britton, Workman, Ranaudo, Pimentel, De La Cruz, etc.), that would work for me.

Harang ($9m) and Lilly ($13m) are probably more available and on one-year deals, but Harang is bad and Lilly needed shoulder surgery last season. I want no part of Harang's 4.95 xFIP but if the Red Sox can't sign any other starting pitchers and you need a veteran, Lilly on a straight salary dump wouldn't be the worst idea in the world to compete with Morales for the fifth starter role. I'd prefer a Marcum or Liriano or E. Jackson, but Lilly, if healthy, is a decent, albeit pricey backup option.
I'm not sure the Dodgers would trade Billingsley, but he comes with his own concerns. He has a partially torn UCL but went on the Carl Crawford rehab-instead-of-surgery route. He's reportedly throwing 94 again, but ligaments don't heal and there's a very strong chance he'll need Tommy John surgery in the next few years. He's younger and probably better than any of the other Dodger pitchers, but his elbow makes be uneasy.

Only guy that interests me a tiny bit is Billingsley and he comes with red flags. Pass
