The umpiring this year is really awful. They're obviously trying to shrink the zone (especially low), but they're missing a ton of calls clearly in the zone.

Ignore the bookies at your own peril. Their record is pretty good. Those buildings in Vegas weren't built on being wrong. Also, one series late, but that last win was thanks to a rested pen. I think innings pitched by starters is the most under rated stat in the game. You need to re-read jimed's post, ray. The bookies do nothing more than set the odds at the mid-point of the action. It's the original version of crowd sourcing. They'll tack on a half point as their take. That's the extent of what they do.

Let's score some runs here. Edit: So much for that.

Looks like the Sox have gone to sleep on offense.

Looks like the Sox have gone to sleep on offense. More like Pineda's slider woke up.

It's great to have a first baseman with wheels.

Lyons, on Aaron Hicks: "In his defense, he's not really a center fielder. He's a corner outfielder."

Ooph. JBJ should have swung on that first pitch. Easy grand slam.

Ooph. JBJ should have swung on that first pitch. Easy grand slam. Screamed the same thing at my screen. When you have a man on 3rd with less than two out you have to change your approach a little. That first pitch was right down the middle.

Girardi should have put Gardner in center, Ackley in left and Hicks in right. Why bunt with Mookie! Man...
