Has Buchholz ever righted himself after coming out and stinking like this though? Seems like when he goes bad, he doesnt get it back in that year. Where's Eric when you need him? BTW, the answer is yes. The answer is yes, The chances go down every start though. The Dl trip is lurking.

Xander Bogaerts could win a batting title at some point.

Why would they DFA him and have to pay him when they just find an injury for him and put him on the DL and let him try and find himself in some rehab starts? It makes no sense. Because you can't just find an injury, there actually has to be an injury to find. Of course, if you're talking about a guy like Brandon Snyder, who thinks he's better off on the phantom DL than bouncing around the league, there's no issue, but if you have a guy who doesn't want to be on the DL you do because there will be a grievance. OTOH, if Clay is amenable to cooperation, then you might as well just option him straight-up. (Aside: amazingly enough, Brandon Snyder still plays baseball.)

I think teams have a scouting report that Shaw isn't mobile coming in on bunts ... there seem to be a lot of bunt attempts against the Sox right now.

Ump didn't do Buch any favors there. That could have been 0-2 just as easily as 2-0, and would have called for a different pitch.

And yet since the granny he's fine. Just bizarre. Yep. Stuff was crisp. Let's score some runs here and run with it! *looks at the order* Nevermind.

If Mookie jumps him early here, could do damage

I realize that 4 runs in the sixth inning is a totally respectable number, but it feels like the Sox are getting shut down.

They've had runners just about every inning, just haven't capitalized.

Several of those strikes to Holt and JBJ were way out of the strike zone.

It looks to me like McCullers preferred Bradley to Betts there

Coming into this game, Clay Buchholz opponent splits: No men on base: | .238 | .358 | .313 | .670 OPS | .295 BABIP | Men on base: | .288 | .325 | .562 | .886 OPS | .271 BABIP |
Not sure what it means but he's given up only 1 solo HR out of 6 total Also, I'm very glad Carson Smith is in right now

I'm searching my memory . . . when was there a recent scenario, top of the order up, double play would have done wonders . . .

Farrell about to lose two straight one run games. No manager can defend a starting pitcher giving up 5 early, you don't like him, got it.
