This is really obnoxious and I can't quite get myself to believe, but I took the time to search Farrell's record on one-run games with the Red Sox. He's 0-276!!!!!11!!ONE!
Kidding of course, coming into today he's an even 72-72. About what you can expect from these random sometimes luck fueled games.

If we bunt here, I'm driving to Fenway to end someone.

So glad we pissed away an out there.
It is truly amazing how horrible this idiot running this team is.

What was the logic behind batting Rutledge sixth? Or leaving in Wright to get crushed yesterday when he had clearly lost it?

I've never liked giving away an out, especially when a pitcher comes in and immediately walks the 1st batter. If he's having trouble throwing strikes, why would you give away an out?

I notice a strong correlation between Buchholz's starts and orneriness among posters

What was the logic behind batting Rutledge sixth? Or leaving in Wright to get crushed yesterday when he had clearly lost it? How many wins do you think the best manager gets a team? How many l's do you think the worst gets? All the stats I've seen have it in the single digits, and this isn't one of them.

You could have ended your sentence after the first 7 words. The only time it makes a little sense to give away an out is when the pitcher is hitting with the stupid national league rules. Otherwise, giving away outs is literally the dumbest thing in baseball. You have a fixed amount of outs in a game. There is never a logical situation where throwing away one of those fixed amount of outs makes sense in a normal game (ie one where we don't use the stupid NL rules). You are literally making the job of the other team easier. You literally have higher odds on scoring 1 run with a runner on 1st with no outs than you do with a runner on 2nd and 1 out.

The congruence between the player Colby Rasmus looks like he'd be, and the player he actually is, is remarkable.

I think they showed a stat yesterday that said when trailing after 7 innings the Sox are 0-9 before they lost yesterday in that situation.
What's amazing about offense is how at times it seemed like the Sox can score at will but if they need just that 1 run, they struggle to do so. Hopefully they'll end that today. They're set up to, so we'll see.
And oh yeah, I'm kind of done with Buchholz. There may be a spurt there but he's just such a drag on this team and because of his failures the Sox will wind up trading people we wish they wouldn't so they can acquire a #2/#3 type starter, which is what Buchholz was supposed to be. Thanks for nothing Clay.

3-1 counts with both Xander and Mookie against a guy that can't find the zone both are swinging at junk.
Unreal.
