That's an awesome picture, by the way. Not that all of yours aren't. Thanks! Had a pretty solid weekend with the camera in Portland. I was praying this one of Ramos would come out: as it's not every day you see someone score from first on a lineout. (And a bit of an adventure for Ryan Court: not only did Hartford's manager get tossed in the at-bat for arguing a check swing (I think), but then he lines out sharply and the runners on first and third both score.) (Mistakes were made.)

That's still a great picture. But I can how you would have liked that angle, that view, to be slightly better.

You really think Ball to Portland in a couple of weeks? Why not? He spent all of last season in Salem too and is over 160 innings at the level. Not predicting it, but it's a possibility. They've got 7 SP on the roster, so something's gotta give, and that seems like the most likely. It's worth noting that Kohl Stewart, who was drafted three spots ahead of Ball in 2013, was just promoted to Double-A. Stewart's numbers are better across the board, but it's interesting to see that Ball is still developmentally on track despite his struggles.

HS pitchers in the first round of the 2013 draft: 1-4, Kohl Stewart, 181 IP in A+, promoted to AA yesterday 1-7, Trey Ball, 163.1 IP in A+ 1-10, Phil Bickford, didn't sign, went to a JuCo, drafted 1-18 in 2015, 48 IP in A 1-22, Hunter Harvey, hasn't pitched since 2014 due to elbow soreness, a fractured leg, more elbow soreness, and surgery for a sports hernia 1-28, Rob Kaminsky, 32.2 IP in AA 1-33, Ian Clarkin, 59.2 IP in A+ (missed all of 2015 due to injury except for AFL) 1-35, Matt Krook, failed his physical so he went to college at Oregon Gets worse if you look at the second round, except for Tyler Danish at 2-55, who has 206 innings at AA. That really was just a brutal year for HS arms.

You are overlooking Drehoff who has been Poyneresque since they moved him to closer after his first start. Drehoff was promoted to Portland over the weekend. lol, missed that. I've been calling for the Drehoff/Poyner chain move for a while now. Also in line with the original conversation, it will be interesting to see where Kopech get sent.
