Do we have any interest in going after this guy?
One of those if he is healthy kind of moves.

I'm sure he is looking for a major league deal, but I would be all over him, if he would take a minor league contract with an invite to spring training.
At one time he was a very solid pitcher until his velocity, never great, went south. He is still quite young.

Jurrjens had two great ERA seasons, but they were both on the backs of wildly unsustainable BABIPs and his peripherals have always been mediocre-to-bad. He's an extreme fly ball pitcher who walks more than half the number of batters he strikes out. On a minor league deal, I guess there's not much risk, but I wouldn't guarantee him anything.

With a starting rotation six deep, not even counting the almost ready pitching prospects, and an overcrowded bullpen, where would he play?

Presumably you sign him to a two year deal and send him to Dr. James Andrews in Birmingham to fix his knee, then he sits for all of 2013 and plays healthy in 2014.

So you would pay him for a year just to have his knee fixed and get nothing for it? With the pay table turning 175 with the addition of Hanrahan, is this really a good allocation of resources? Is the guy that good?

Id rather go for Porcello or sign Braden.

Maybe you have a club option for a third year.
