Porcello is intriguing and maddening to watch pitch.
He can throw 10 to 15 perfect sinkers and look great doing it.
But just when you think he is on his game, he throws a meatball!
And instead of thinking he is throwing good game and that was one bad pitch, instead you are on pins and needles wondering when is the next meatball gong to be thrown.
Very hard to watch a game that he pitches.

You can say the same thing about Porcello just like with any sinker ball pitcher.
Derek Lowe was the same exact way and Lowe had huge stones. Like when he came into game 7 of the 2003 alds with one out with runners on 2nd and 3rd in the ninth inning.
Sinker ball pitchers are highly volatile but are highly effective, just like with knuckle ball pitchers. You just have to take the good with the bad, and it's mostly good if the pitcher has enough talent.
