First place up for grabs. Three game series means someone is coming out on top of the division after this series (unless there's a rain out).
Can't wait until the Sox are done facing these high powered offenses until after the trade deadline. The Sox *should* be better equipped to facing a team like the Orioles after the trade deadline.
Need to win one and steal another one if possible. Can't expect a sweep in their park (I hope I'm wrong).
Hopefully Eduardo brought his good stuff for this start he has coming up in game 3.

I thought that we were home for the series. It IS at Fenway (as are the next 10 games). We played in their bandbox last time. It started out good but their offense just outperformed ours, and they needed to. Our pitching imploded those last two games.

Won't see these guys again til mid-August so need to exploit the home field advantage and the top of the Sox rotation in this series.

Price has to show up. I don't want pressure on ERod after his 4 HR night last week.

Keep in mind that Toronto is gonna take at least 3 out of 4 from Philly this week. Thats why i would have preferred that Toronto lost yesterday.

Great pitching match-up's the first two, the DVR goes on. It's always great when two teams are locked in offensively. Price does have to show up! Let's go Sox!

I'm praying for them not to give up any homeruns and win the series. That's key for them.

Shouldn't MLB have a decision on Machado's suspension by now? It would be great if they decision is handed down today.

If they can string out the appeal until the 21 June, they start series against the Padres and Rays. Makes sense to have Machado for Sox and Jays and then have him miss time against the weaker clubs.

How far would the Sox be ahead of the O's if the teams had each others' manager?
Perhaps 0 games. But perhaps as many as 14.
In terms of Win Efficiency -- actual wins, minus expected wins based on hitting and pitching stats (both schedule-adjusted) -- the Sox rank 29th in MLB at -4.4. The O's rank 7th, at 2.7.
That's a 7-win lead if both teams had neutral efficiency. If it's all luck, we're still tied. If it's all managerial tactics, though (hint: it's not), the Sox could be 43-19 and the O's 29-33.

I mean even under Lovullo last year the team was much better run. We have our test case.

Sox have a losing record in the AL East. If they have playoff aspirations this needs to change. Now, please.

Oh man not this again.
At this rate they're going to have to rename it from "Pesky Pole" to "Orioles Shortstop Pole".

Take two pitches. You're not that good with the bat.
