Relievers are the most overrated, overinflated market bubble in baseball history. I'm not even exaggerating.

Hanley Ramirez defense has been a pleasant surprise this year.

seems like something is always missing. Beginning to think that the talent on the team has nothing to do with whether they will win or not. They are just unlucky. And Nava......thanks for dicking us over.

After watching most of the homestand pathetic-ness, and this latest bone-headed loss ...
Well I hate to sound too "LA" but really the 90-minute-plus drive to see this team just doesn't seem worth it.

They just keep finding ways to lose. This is one serious underachieving team. I'm approaching the point where I really don't believe in them.
This team just seems to blink when the game is at its most important point - over and over again.
If they're down 1 with the bases loaded and no outs, they won't score. If they need a key out or a key defensive play, the botch it.
You watch this team and you can't help but think to yourself that they lack balls. It's an irrational thought, but this team should be so much better than they are. Winning teams find ways to win this game.
The Red Sox certainly have the talent to win a lot of ballgames, but they just find ways to lose and sooner or later, as these winnable games turned losses pile up, they could find themselves stuck in a 1 game playoff they shouldn't have had to be in, or worse, stuck on the outside in watching everybody else. The Red Sox should be several games up on Baltimore and Toronto by now. They are such a damn aggravating team. They should be so much better than this!

I have no idea how to quantify it (aside from you know, being one of the worst pitching staffs in the league), but Carl Willis and John Farrell are not an effective duo. How they both have jobs at this point with the obvious evidence out there is beyond me.

Go. If they start the streak that gets us to the playoffs....you'll get full credit for the being the reason. Help us Obi-Wan justabitoutside.....your our only hope.

I'll say it one more time, can we just fire Farrell and see if things turn around. I don't even know if a lot of the crap with this team us his fault, but there is some kind of disconnect, and I think it is past time for the Sox to see what this team will do with Lovullo managing.

I thought about it and changed my mind, if a team continuously finds a way to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory, and thoroughly underachieves I think that is a reflection on the manager. Farrell has to go.

Overinflated...I'll agree....overrated....I don't agree. I agree. I'm tired of hearing how easily interchangeable they all are. It's not true. Some are simply better. It's kind of like how you hear the there's no such thing as clutch yet you know there's nobody you'd rather have up than Papi in a big situation because over the years he's been as clutch as anybody. On the flip side, if you are a Yankees fan, you've watched Mariano Rivera for many years and you knew that he had major impact on the team. The Yankees won a lot of games that if they had another closer they wouldn't have won. It matters.

Farrell has to go. Farrell's biggest fault here was that he didn't have Doug Mientkiewicz on the bench to play 1b. They lost tonight because Hanley Ramirez threw away a double play grounder, because Ziegler was ineffective, and because they couldn't score more than 1 run off a terrible starting pitcher, and they also lost because they're becoming quite adept at finding ways to lose winnable games. I can't blame Farrell for tonight. I blame the team, the players who found a way to lose.

“@joncouture: #RedSox are 3-4 (.429) in games David Price throws eight innings. Entering tonight, rest of league was 90-27 (.769) when starter went 8.”
“@ryanhannable: The Red Sox’ last seven losses have been by one or two runs. 21-24 in such games this season.”

A talented team with an avg manager under-performs their talent level but a less talented team under a good manager over-performs their talent level. It happens in all walks of life including sports. Look no further than successful managers, they dont always have good teams but they get the best out of the team they have. The results of the Redsox the last few years screams they dont have a good manager. (2013 has to be considered an outlier as there are bottom dwelling the remaining years)

So successful managers have their sucess disregarded as outliers because they don't fit your arguments, got it. There's not a single goal post that won't be moved when blaming anything on Farrell, right?
