Groome might pitch today. He might not. But DH would be the perfect time.

Showdown in Lowell. They host Tri-City with a 1 game lead over the Houston affiliate.
Also, a showdown in Myrtle Beach, where Salem can re-take 1st place with a sweep, as they are 2.5 behind the Cubs affiliate.

Denyi Reyes starting Game 2. Don't think they'd have Groome piggyback but it's not impossible.

Why is Shaun Anderson starting? After his first two starts, I think he should be a reliever personally but what do I know lol

Why is Shaun Anderson starting? After his first two starts, I think he should be a reliever personally but what do I know lol First off, its two starts. I wouldn't put too much stock in his results right away. We have no idea what kind of condition he is in, or how tired he is after his year in Florida. We've seen numerous examples of recent draftees having poor short season debuts only to look like a different player the next season. Second, recent draftees are on a really tight pitch count, so he's unlikely to go more than 2 innings anyways. Third, even though he's been absolutely hammered in his first two appearances, he's not struggling with control (4 k's, no walks), so believe it or not, things could be worse. I'm sure the .688 BAPIP against him isn't sustainable.

We don't make decisions after 2 starts. Period.
Still, even if one profiles as a reliever down the road, they're often developed as a starter for 2 reasons -
1 - more opportunities to develop pitches and gain experience 2 - maybe things come together (or a 3rd pitch evolves) and he actually can be a starter

And Teddy still has consistency problems. That's the big issue with him.

CV 6/9, 2B, HR, BB in his last 3 games. It really doesn't go back further than that, though.
Start-to-start, Owens has shown somewhat of a trend for increased Strike% this year (r = .25, p = .28), but no trend at all for K-W/IP, or for that relative to Strike%. In terms of control, he's just been marking time down there.

This is why I ask these questions. Thanks for the info guys! Good stuff! I do like the high strikeout numbers from guys like Nogosek and Smith early on so lots to be positive about so far.
