Johnny Damon with a (much) better arm and a better batting eye, but less speed. So Yaz? God, I hope so.

With that explanation they just gave for the ground rules, why does the line in CF even exist? Only balls that hit behind that CF wall are HR? I don't think that is true. boston.redsox.mlb.com/bos/ballpark/information/index.jsp?content=groundrulesFenway Park Ground Rules Batted ball over line on top of the left field wall: Home Run. Fair ball going through scoreboard, either on the bound or in flight: Two Bases. Batted ball in flight striking to the right of yellow line on left center field wall behind flagpole: Home Run. Batted ball in flight striking left center field wall to left of line behind flagpole and bounding into seats on top of center field wall: Home Run. Batted ball in flight striking left of line in right center field and bounding into bullpen: Home Run. Fair ball striking the ladder below top of left field wall and bounding out of park: Two Bases. Seems clear enough.

What the hell just happened other than one of the most unbelievable throws JBJ has ever made?

Better get the bullpen going. Shaw should of had the last out.

If they plunk someone this inning (Benny or Mookie), it is about to get crazy.

What the hell just happened other than one of the most unbelievable throws JBJ has ever made? That's 11 assists so far this season for the guy. Add: It's got to be tough for Headley. The team he thought he'd signed up on has evaporated.

What the hell just happened other than one of the most unbelievable throws JBJ has ever made? Hard to imagine the physics of that throw: how do you throw like without using your legs, with your momentum moving away from the throw?

I don't think it can be appreciated. It was like a Jeter throw from CF to 3B without blooping it.

Letting Porcello pitch the 8th was a dumb decision that worked. But he had a great game.

Great performance by Porcello. Porcello has been great this year. Hopefully Price can have the same bounce back that Porcello had this year

Is Dean Blandino interning with MLB replay tonight? How can you over rule a HR like Benintndii's on such inconclusive replay angles?

Last three outings by Porcello he has gone 9 innings, 8 innings, and 8 innings. Bullpen loves this guy.
EDIT: Please do me a favor, and go to Porcello's game logs this season. Look at the IP column and the ER column. Then tell me whether you still miss Lester.

In the land of knucklehead flamethrowers, the command guy is king. He can get it up to 95 every so often, but he has more than enough stuff, so he can save that for special occasions.

Today on 'EEI some clown called in saying JBJ was not a good center fielder. He might have just been looking for attention, but of all of the players you want to call in and complain about? Also, they must have talked about that bobblehead for at least three hours this afternoon. Not that I listened to it, but listened in the car after 2 then back in the car at 5 and it was like I never turned it off. I know they need something to talk about, but how about you mix in some talk about the players and the games? It kills me how many times I have to change the station because of how horrible it is. Minnehan is atrocious. All Gerry and Dennis want to talk about is their (lack of knowledge) about politics. If I wanted to listen to that crap I'd listen to Rush, at least he knows what he is taking about once in a while. Holley gets going on one of his hypothetical tangents and I just can't do it anymore. It's really disappointing that the best sports city in the country can't do any better that. Benitendi's not bad though. What an outfield. Infield not far away.

Hope that 95,96 for Kimbrel is a one-game thing.

That's why you don't trade the kids for Chris Sale or whatever. Worth repeating.
