Good concentration by Price to get through the heart of the order in the 6th. It's pouring here just north of DC, and the brunt of it has to be on the doorstep of Camden Yards by this point.

Well, get moving, Price. Bad weather is on its way, according to the radar, and may be around for awhile. This could be one of those situations where the Sox try to get through the bottom of the 5th and the O's try to stall. I pray they don't wait 3 hours to call the game with a 1pm game in Detroit tomorrow. That would be complete BS. Seriously, if the game is not resumed within one hour, they SHOULD make it official.

Awesome, vintage cutter by Price vs. Machado. He should figure out what Wainwright did to improve his cutter. It's now better than his curve, and is just about the most ridiculous cutter you'll see.

Once the game starts, isn't it the umpires that call the game? I don't think the Orioles have anything to do with it.

If you've got explicit criticisms of Farrell, please take them to the other thread. Otherwise the gameday threads become just about unreadable and they offer little of any value. As others have pointed out, the team is winning, a game out of first, and as long as they're in that position he won't be going anywhere. He certainly won't be packing his bags because of any comments on this board. There have been mistakes made - I watch all the managers for all the teams make them all the time. But the idea that they would have won X games with another manager requires the sort of mental gymnastics that would bring a Tibetan monk to his knees. That's unknowable as is the actual method of decision making in that dugout. I watch him consulting with Willis all the time, and Lovullo is in the background offering up his thoughts as well. So who's the management team? How to apportion blame? Get that monk off his knees and in here for the next round. Celebrate the wins, suffer the losses, and criticize the moves, but stay away from the vitriol and bile. It's useless. This post is just plain unacceptable. Fire all mods NOW and replace them with Jim Leyland before the season gets away. Our mods' late-thread management is just horrible and I don't care what they did in 2013.

I wonder if the umpires have different criteria for ending games early for rain delays on a getaway day with an afternoon game the next day.
The last time I was in Fenway was the last series against the Yankees in 2010. The first game was delayed for like 6 hours before it was canceled. I ended up spending 13 hours at Fenway the next day. Quite annoying. Probably spent $200 on beer, so that was why I guess.

I wonder if the umps use common sense and take into account factors like the score and the RS travel schedule. The worst case scenario for us is a long delay followed by a resumption in play. The guys might not get into their hotels in Detroit at 4 or 5 in the a.m.

Apparently the Red Sox were just told the delay could be up to three hours.

Apparently the Red Sox were just told the delay could be up to three hours. SMFH. I'd be calling the league if I were the Red Sox right now. This schedule is already unacceptable, let alone delays added to it.

Radar is showing red all over Baltimore for 20 miles from downtown. And then green for another 50 miles out.
