Now that the 2016 minor league season is over, I hope our readers can join me in thanking the SoxProspects Staff for another great year. It’s important to note that the staff is made up entirely of volunteers who do what they do for the love of covering the Red Sox system.
Thanks to our writers James Dunne, Jim Crowell, Will Woodward, John Gray, Eric Gendron, Nick Rabasco, Caleb Miller, and Conor Duffy, and editors Harry Burnham, Michael Grossi, and Ian Dalley who work hard to bring you breaking news, the Cup of Coffee, the Weekly notes, and more.
Thanks to Mike Reynolds, who dutifully maintains our stats database. Thanks to JP Kitson, who oversees our social media platforms. Big thanks to Kelly O’Connor and our other photographers. Thank you to Dick Duggan, who keeps our rankings history and works on other number crunching projects.
I want to applaud and thank our moderators, Josh, John, Norm, Matt, Noroberto, and Joel for keeping forum discussion on point and civil, and also for all the other work they do such as GameDay threads, analysis, thread organization, poll posting, linking, etc.
Huge thanks to Andrew Kolodziej, who does yeomen’s work in entering the stats on our rankings pages by hand every single day.
Similarly, huge thanks to Matt Picard, who did an enormous amount of work maintaining the rosters page, the transactions page, player pages, rankings pages, among others every single time there is a transaction. I can confidently say the site wouldn’t have run without him this year.
Big shout out to scout Chaz Fiorino, who provides us with invaluable scouting reports and insights on dozens of games each year.
Thanks to my partners and site co-owners Chris Hatfield, Ian Cundall, and Matt Huegel. I’m not going to try to list all of the work they do, but it includes the Podcast, site updates, scouting reports, managing the staff, and columns and reports on SoxProspects News. Again, these guys have been with the site for several years and have never taken any profits – only reimbursements for travel and other expenses.
Last, huge thank you to our readers for reading and posting! You make the forum work and challenge our thought processes every day! Special thanks to those that donated that allow us to keep the site running!
We’ll likely be making a few minor changes to the site this off-season to streamline and focus the work we do, but all of the big features will continue in place. We’ll have more news on that in the coming weeks or months.
Cheers,
Mike
