Great job E-Rod. Now please Red Sox offense, get this man some serious run support. Especially with Barnes warming up in the pen.

Yes, I think it's time to remove ERod while he's feeling good about himself, especially with the pen having gotten a break last night. Mix and match in the 7th, Koji in the 8th, somebody in the 9th.

I'm going to miss Big Papi so much. But my goodness, I'm going to enjoy it while it lasts.

Big Papi is good about taking my requests I will so miss him!!! He actually has an outside shot of 40 home runs. Not only has he passed Darrell Evans for most homers in a season after 40 when he hit his 35th homer. His 36th homer is the record setter for most home runs in a final season. I want 3 more doubles for him to get to 50 and 4 more homers for him to get to 40. How ridiculous is that!!

What a shot. Huge amount of breathing room now. This team is really slamming the door shut like we would not have believed a couple weeks ago.

You suppose there's an O's prospect forum where the regs are calling Showalter an idiot for leaving Gausman in plus 100 pitches and 4th time through?
Or does everyone everywhere love Buck as the proto-manager?

Showalter leaves his starter in for too long, love it.

Showalter ... shoulda brought in a lefty to face Ortiz there. This board would've exploded in rage at Farrell for that.

If Eduardo didn't have that injury in ST, we won't be trading Mr Anderson for Drew f***ng Pomeranz And Papi is one XBH away from entering the Top 10 all-time list.

It's like Papi is zeroing in on where his shots go - kind of like an assassin. This guy is going out in a blaze of glory. This season of his is so special and historic.

I'm almost overconfident about the Red Sox bullpen right now. I feel like this game is over.

Color me astounded that Showalter let Gausman in to pitch to Ortiz. When time is running out and you're the team chasing, you have to try to do what you can.
If Papi can get to 50 doubles, that would probably be the most amazing feat of what has been an almost incomprehensible season for him. The man cannot run.

You could also point to the struggles of Buchholz and Owens, plus the time Johnson was away from baseball. Lots of blame to go around.

And meanwhile, with the team in the middle of a playoff run the O's draw 16,000 something last night and a shade over 20,000 tonight -- and that's with scads of Sox fans apparently invading the park.
That's pathetic.
