It certainly tarnishes all of his highlights from last year in my eyes.

Holy cow: Ryan Pressly with 2-year $30 million extension. That is… a lot.

Pressly was an unexpected Rule 5 pick, if I remember correctly. Nice job by the Twins.

He sort of was? It was a weird rule 5 year in that it seemed very obvious that they protected Hassan when they didn't need to (wound up playing out pretty poorly) and that Josh Fields was going to get selected (he was). It wasn't so much that losing the latter was a big deal, but that doing so when they used a spot on the former was an odd play. Then Pressly got picked too which was less expected but we knew there were teams that liked him, IIRC.
Would've been interesting to see how this year's Rule 5 Draft would've played out. We're aware of players who 100% were getting picked (not necessarily guys you're thinking of), but the questions are would they have stuck and would the loss have mattered? Given the 40-man issues the team is having anyway right now, not protecting guys was probably the move (and I don't think it's because they were guessing the draft was going to get called off).

Turned into an entirely different pitcher Cherington traded for Melancon, Bailey, and Hanrahan all within a year of losing Pressly (2012-2013) and lost Fields who eventually turned into Yordan Alvarez (who destroyed us in the ALCS last year). Nevemind losing Reddick and Lowrie who were valuable players. Sorry for the anti-Cherington rant, but this just resurfaced his mediocrity. Also, he gave the MFY Clay Holmes for free last year

Carmen Fanzone, reinvented as a first call jazz musician: "Fanzone is an accomplished horn player. On June 18, 1972 he played "The Star-Spangled Banner" prior to a game at Wrigley Field.[2] Following his playing retirement, Fanzone started a jazz music career as a flugelhorn player. Fanzone and his wife Sue Raney, a four-time Grammy Award nominee as a jazz vocalist, reside in Sherman Oaks." In his off hours, you could probably could have found him at Wally's or The Green Mill (Chicago) tinyurl.com/2p8ay46b - Fanzone backing his wife Sue Raney who is singing 'Baseball'.

Trying to find info on Aldo Ramirez, and it really makes me feel lucky to be a Red Sox fan. There's nothing on the internet about the Nationals.
Anyway, as far as I can tell he didn't make an opening day roster?

He's not on a roster but it's entirely possible the Nationals are releasing theirs today or tomorrow given that Friday is opening day at whatever level he'd be at.

Simon Muzziotti called up by the Phillies After Mickey Moniak finally had a great Spring and then broke a hand. Muzziotti has only played a few games above A ball.

Is there a reason why you can't divulge this information?
I was most worried about Santos and Rafaela.

Craig Kimbrel closed out the Dodgers' first win of the year, entering a 5-2 game in Denver and going 1-3, 2B, K, 2B (R), K.
1-for-1 so far...
