I can see Bobby V hasn't changed, still has to blame others.

Chaim Bloom hired by the Cardinals in an advisory role. Smart move by a smart org In 2023 the Cardinals were 71-91 and finished in last place in the NL Central....Bloom is a perfect fit....lol, just kidding. Had to figure someone was gonna grab him before too long.

Thanks! I am glad these Ex-Red Sox still have careers. It is interesting to watch where they go. Many have made nice careers in Asia: Casey Kelly, William Cuevas, Rual Alcantara….

Mozeliak’s contract is up after this year, so this could be a potential POBO in waiting situation for Bloom. It wouldn’t take much imagination to see that not looking so great for FSG.

Bloom may well do a good job as GM somewhere else, but I can't imagine he's going to do such an amazing job that you'll look at it and go, "Oh, wow. He's way better than what we've got." Decent GMs are essentially fungible.

They can't really step down to an assistant GM job or anything like that (usually), so if they get hired by a team, they're an "advisor."

Good move by Mozeliak; Bloom is obviously smart and has a lot to offer. Not quite ready to be the final decision maker, IMO, so it's a perfect spot for him to spend a year evaluating his options for 2025, bouncing ideas off Mozeliak and others, staying in the game and learning a new perspective in a successful org. A few years down the line, if most of Anthony, Yorke, Teel, Romero, Abreu, Valdez pan out; if Story's and/or Yoshida's contracts wind up looking good; if one or two of Wong, Whit, Winck, McGuire, Schreiber, Bernie make an all-star team, he might get another bite at the apple. If they don't he prolly won't...
