Not specifically applicable to this series, but while I was looking up some notes on Brian Johnson I ended up being amazed at how much the pitching staff has turned over since mid-2015 when he made his last start. Justin Masterson came in relief of him! Alexi Ogando was with the team, which feels like a thousand years ago. Joe Kelly was pitching poorly before that stretch at the end of the year where he pitched well and convinced people he might be a good starter, again. Rich Hill was in the minor leagues. Dalier Hinojosa, who I'd pretty much forgotten about, got into a game that year.

Donaldson out and EE gone. Lot less intimidating for Johnson.

It's not listed on the broadcast schedule, but MLB Network is showing tonight's game as Sox @ Jays. It could be just my area or something, but I thought I'd mention it.

I'm not on the bandwagon to release Pablo, and he wouldn't have made the play anyway, but he should have at least been able to keep possession of the ball on that Tulo hit.

Just rotten luck this inning so far Yep! That pretty much sums it up: He got the swings and misses with some GB in there. I liked what I saw regardless of the outcome.

Johnson should get stronger as the game gets going. He can get to the low 90's in the past. Sox need to at least tie it here.

I retract all my earlier comments about Moreland's spot in the lineup. That is impressive hitting right there.

It is too bad that out of the Owens and Johnson and the rest of that group none of them even reached their floor as a good back of the rotation starter.

Justin Smoak should drop a mixtape called "Where There's Smoak There's Fire".
