I hope he can put it together for the whole year, but Chavis is starting to become very exciting.

Nice to see Salem chase Dane Dunning early...came into the game with a 0.61 WHIP for the season and 25 consecutive scoreless innings. Wouldn't be shocked if he turns out to be the best piece from the Eaton trade in a couple of years... Giolito's stuff isn't what it was for spurts early on and his control sucks. That trade has had a lot of turns...despite knowing Eaton is a nice player I was shocked at the return upon hearing it, then read less then enthusiastic reports on Giolito (velocity more 91-94) and Lopez (a lot of people see bullpen arm) then Eaton tears an ACL.

Really hope it doesn't come to a point where the Sox need Elias to start

Happened to go to the winter meetings the night of that deal (I was going to go the night before, but a different trade kept me home and busy...). The consensus was that Hahn absolutely picked Rizzo's pocket (compared to the Sale trade, which the consensus was more like "holy crap that was a lot of talent going both ways" or something to that effect). But you're right, that deal is going to be fascinating to look back on in even a year.
