For the reputation of a great defensive catcher, Vazquez dissapoints defensively.

other than throwing out base runners, is Vaz that good of a defensive catcher?

other than throwing out base runners, is Vaz that good of a defensive catcher? Once upon a time he was an almost mythical pitch framer.

Dumb luck with Kelly with that last batter, take no chances.
Kimbrel here's your game. No other pitcher I would rather see right here.

The Sox need to force Sandoval to stop switch hitting. It's not working.

The first hit off Kimbrel for a RHB. A weak groundball up the middle by Trumbo...

Back to back hits off Kimbrel for RHB. Kimbrel is getting tired.

Now Kimbrel will probably be unavailable tomorrow because Farrell wants Kimbrel to get saves.

1) I HATE 'defensive indifference.' If you can get an out, get an out.
2) If a player steals a base and no one tries to throw him out it should count as a stolen base.

A badly needed win by a pitcher I didn't think could pitch lights out at this point, but that's what David Price did. He pitched a gem against a tough team when the Red Sox needed a victory. Hats off to David Price.

The team needed a win and the ace delivered. If Price can be Price again, this team might have the best rotation in baseball.

The team needed a win and the ace delivered. If Price can be Price again, this team might have the best rotation in baseball. It would be a huge boost, but for him to be an ace, I think we would also need Porcello to step his game up just a little bit. Maybe stop giving up 11 baserunners every 6 or so innings, and then some help from erod for the Red Sox to have the "best rotation"

other than throwing out base runners, is Vaz that good of a defensive catcher? I agree with what you're saying. I didn't think he has been that good overall defensively. And he has made some really dumb plays. Though he is very young.
