Dan O'Dowd says he looks like a reliever to him.

Man MLB network really bashed the pick. That was harsh. I'm very happy with the pick at #24!

Since his stuff is better than the numbers, you'd have to think he signs under slot right? Could let the Sox grab another high upside high school guy.

Another future reliever taken in the first round. Better than somebody who never it makes it to AA

Just taking a look at Houck throwing motion, seems like a lot of stress on his arm.

Kind of discouraging to hear the opinion that Houcke is just going to be a bullpen guy and probably not a starter, that he lacks fastball command, and he doesn't really have any other reliable pitches.
I hope he can be what he was a couple of seasons ago and they're able to develop him to be a starter.

So so pick in my opinion, not horrible but Kendall would have been awesome.

Well we have a talent for having a system full of relievers, so I guess this fits the bill. We don't have a good track record of developing starters so keep churning out relievers is the solution.

Romero goes with the next pick. Depending upon what you read, I saw Max Scherzer comparisons for the hard throwing RH.

Sox got a guy at #24 who was across the board ranked 20-25. Not too much to complain on here

Tanner Houck is the pick. Good pick. Will have a good career in KC after he's moved as a PTBNL for Minor
