Sandy Leon should have had that at-bat. JF is trying to be the accidental winning manager. JF was ejected earlier didn't know that, but could be still making decisions. irregardless, Leon should have that at-bat. It isn't rocket science.

Pretty much another loss that summarizes the frustrating parts of the season pretty well.

I don't know if I can really say that Christian Vasquez is a first team catcher at this point.

Price is not mentally equipped to pitch in Boston. Period.

Is it price's fault that the offense went mia tonight?

Price is probably in a bad space mentally right now, wouldn't mind a phantom DL. Fister will lead us to the promised land anyway.

Xander kind of blew it defensively in yesterday's game. He threw a ball away, which lead to the 2 run allowed in the game which put the angels ahead. Then he couldn't handle a ball thrown to him off a pickoff attempt, which led to the third run.
At that point Abad was in the game and he's giving up hits and balks galore (even though the balk wasn't his fault most likely).
The game was lost when Xander messed up defensively. The offense wasn't scoring much off a guy throwing 98 while starting. Nevermind off the angels awesome setup man in Middleton.
Too many games where the offense isn't clicking but also getting lazy defensively too. Benintendi throwing to the plate with Pujols at third (even though that was two nights ago), Xander making poor throws. Sometimes you're not going to hit (especially with this offense) but you got to at least keep a clean game defensively when you're not scoring runs. I've counted 4 games where the offense and defense combined resulted to 4 Porcello losses this year. None of which were Porcello's fault at all.

Noted. I actually saw this recently and had been using incorrectly for years. Old habits are hard to break.

thats good. one question, is the e after the "v" silent during pronunciation or do you need to say that e. It seems to make a difference (for future reference) Not sure. I looked it up on the interwebs. But I would go with what feel right.

Price is not mentally equipped to pitch in Boston. Period. Are you basing this off of those tweets? Price is basically at the early April phase of his year if he'd started healthy. For any pitcher with elbow concerns I'd be thrilled to get 6 solid innings from them at that stage. He seems to be stating they're being cautious, just as they do with all other pitchers with health concerns. And his FB looked really good last night, it was the offspeed stuff that he couldn't pinpoint. He'll be fine.

Price is not mentally equipped to pitch in Boston. Period. So, last year when he went 17-9, he was not yet mentally imbalanced?

I don't buy Price not being mentally fit for Boston. He's a smart guy, a classy player. He can handle scrutiny. But I worry about his health. His velocity suggests his elbow is holding up, but I worry that he's made adjustments that strain his arm in other ways. And... whatever the issues are with the media, I think any athlete with the elbow diagnosis he got (surgery for a younger player) must deal with a lot of anxiety.
Anyway, he wasn't the problem yesterday. If that is his average game this season, I'm happy. Yes, his salary is for more, but I don't pay him and that's sunk cost. He gave them a good chance to win, and the rest of them team let him down.

Price is not mentally equipped to pitch in Boston. Period. Actually he had a pretty good game. His location was off on a few pitches but he was controlling at least three of them and the FB lived in the mid 90s. That he gave up all of 3 runs, is fighting a blister on his pitching hand and whatever other issues he alluded to and is still going out there and doing well shows me more than enough. That game was on the offense that couldn't score more than a run off a #4-5 pitcher, and the defense on the field that pissed away some outs.

Of course, "Reddick up against Furbush" was one of my all-time favorite play-by-play calls, but Fister does present some interesting opportunities.

I like his fast pace. Efficient first inning.
Way too fast through Sox first 3 hitters...no interest in elevating pitch count I guess...
