Kind of makes me wonder about Lakins. On the DL with a right forearm injury. Has there been any indication on whether it's a long or short term injury? Candidates to take over for Dedgar in Salem are probably Logan Boyd, Kyle Hart, or Daniel Gonzalez. Boyd has been doing pretty well as a reliever, I wonder if they keep him there. Hart, in my opinion has earned a promotion. His numbers look good on the surface, but his peripherals also look wicked good.

Boyd will almost certainly take his rotation spot. He's been working in a piggyback role, not a true relief role. That said, Kyle Hart has been shoving lately and Gonzalez already went up once briefly, so we'll see. Mitchell Osnowitz has been rehabbing in Lowell and would make sense as the guy to take the roster spot.

It's way too early to talk about these guys since they are 22 year old guys in the GCL picked later than the 30th
But Taylor Ahearn and Rio Gomez have given up only 2 runs in 23 innings. Combined 21/1 K to BB ratio.

Cole Brannen is slugging .261, but has an obp of .443.

Cole Brannen is slugging .261, but has an obp of .443. In his first 50 AB's out of HS. This tells me he has strike zone awareness and good bat control. The pop will come. I'm not worried. www.soxprospects.com/stats/batter.php?player=66944712-44, 12 H, 11BB, 7K, .439 OBP

At the very earliest stages of development, I'm much more encouraged by a great approach w/out pop than by pop w/out a good approach. This is especially true for a guy whose power was already thought to be more of a projectable tool.

Glad to see him promoted to AA. He's had a good year and isn't overly "old" for High A. What's the real story on why he hasn't gotten his body in shape? I have to think it would improve his pitching.

Its worth noting that Beeks was lights out through 5 innings....5IP, 0H, 0ER, 1BB, 3K. Things unraveled a bit after the 5th and a Devers error didn't help. Overall line: 6.1 IP, 6H, 3ER(6R), 2BB, 3K
