Jhonathan Diaz quietly put up a very good month in July. 2.02 ERA in 5 starts. Struck out 22.3% of batters and had a GB% of 60.3. He's had the third highest ground ball percentage of anyone in the system above rookie ball. Profiling best as a reliever could allow him to be a wicked useful arm out of the pen.
Another guy on a good run is Santiago Espinal. Hitting .419 over his last 10 games and .373 for the month of August.

So I'm a classic lurker who has followed these pages for a few years and about to make his first post.
If this is in the wrong place, or inappropriate for this board or anything like that I apologize in advance.
I am a UVA alum and Charlottesville is one of my favorite places ever. I don't live there anymore but I hope I can again someday.
Yesterday was horrifying for me. A few people I know still live in Charlottesville, a couple others were on hand for medical duties. Thankfully they are okay, but I wish I could say that for everyone. Starting from Friday night it was just miserable. Couldn't read about what was happening without getting too angry or too sad. Luckily I had the Red Sox game and a some nice minor league days to try and take my mind off of it.
I follow Chris on twitter but somehow I missed that he had any affiliation with Charlottesville or UVA. I really appreciate what he said.
I don't really have much else to say. This whole thing is just so negative.
Anyways, again I apologize if this is inappropriate or should be posted in a different thread. I just wanted to share. Wahoowa, go Sox.

You don't have to aplogize, IMO. I hope you feel better.

Beeks solid again. Really hope he gets a Sept callup and some innings in the pen. Hart with a nice outing, too, although 5BB's to 6K's And McAvoy rebounded after getting some bad luck (according the Hatfield's Twitter).
Nice outing by the starting pitchers so far today.

Jake Thompson getting the start for Lowell tonight - against Seth Romero. I thought that the Sox should have rolled the dice and taken Romero, who went 1 spot ahead of Houck. Will be interesting to follow both of their careers.

Diaz with another really good start today. 7 IP, 6Ks, 1 BB, 1 ER. He's had a good year for another guy that basically skipped Lowell. I also just noticed that he missed an entire year due to injury. Makes it look even better.

Visiting it is one of things I miss from having moved to the West Coast. On the other hand, I can watch the ESPN telecast of the Yankee Red Sox game and still be able to watch Game of Thrones.

No matter which side of the statue issue you fall into, the CVille demonstrations far exceed any reasonable course of action. The events generally aren't in the Asian news but I do see it in places like Facebook.
The part I don't understand here is why they are demonstrating against UVA. As far as I can see, they had nothing to do with the decision to remove the statue and never made any statements supporting its removal.
I have a friend from college who's a doctor there (which is why I'm seeing it in my Facebook) and he decided to send his family back to Mass. for safety. He also happens to be opposed to against (he's not actively doing anything regarding the statue) the statue's removal but still had nothing to do with it.

I don't think they were demonstrating against UVA. UVA basically IS Charlottesville, so if you're going for the symbolism thing, you're walking the lawn. I'm sure there's probably also some kind of twisted interpretation of Jeffersonian doctrine involved too. But yeah, I don't believe UVA specifically had anything to do with it.

From what I read (or at least how I interpreted it), the tiki torch march was specific to UVA. Again though, my information source is a UVA employee so it might be oriented to that and I've never been there. He posted several statements by the university president. Relative to world events this isn't a big story so there isn't anything in the local news. To put things into perspective, If I wasn't a Red Sox fan, I wouldn't have heard about the Marathon Bombing. Relative to the USA, about the only thing you hear about right now is North Korea.
