They looked really good. Huge improvement over last years team. The D made plays. Temple might not be a great team, but they aren't a push over either. Only question is Wimbush and his ability to throw. He is a stud runner, we knew that. He was very inconsistent throwing the ball though. He made some nice plays, but a ton of bad throws. Against an elite D he might have had 3-4 interceptions. How far Notre Dame can go will likely depend on how Winbush develops as a passer. He has a lot more talent at WR and TE then Kizer had last year.
I really enioyed watching Notre Dame just run over Temple. It's going to be fun to watch them run this year.

Well the D is really good, it's amazing what a year and a new defensive coordinator can do. At the same time our new offensive coordinator sucks. I've haven't seen such a bad game plan in a long time at Notre Dame. They made no adjustments at all. If you can't stop the pass rush, why on earth do you go 5 WRs, with no TEs or RBs to help block? Georgia has a very good D, but wow that was hard to watch.
The biggest issue is Wimbush, he just can't throw the ball. Its the first time in like 10-15 plus year since we have had a QB that can't throw. From Quinn, to Clausen, to Reese, to Golson to Kizer. They could all throw the ball. Winbush can't. His arm talent is horrible. He has bad pocket awareness. His bad passes are off by 5-10 yards. Even his good passes are off 2-3 yards and require a great catch by our receivers. We have to at least go to a two QB system. We need a QB that can throw. You can't run if the other team has no fear that your QB can throw the ball.
It's too bad because if we still had Kizer we would be a great team this year with the new D.
