Yeah Marrero is special, too bad he can't hit. Compared to Holt?

Sale with 300K's. That is a great accomplishment.

Sale asked to stay in. Maybe there is something Sale felt he needed tonight. I can't blame JF here. What I will say is Sale was born to do this. He has waited 6 years to get in this kind of position. I trust he knows what he is capable of, and so should everyone else. I don't think this is a case of a hard ass thinking of himself.

I'll be the oddball here and say that Sale hasn't pitched a lot lately, has an opportunity to rest going forward and watching the reaction of his teammates as he walked off the field was a good team psych move.
ADD: And it'll get the Yankees 'youth' off the headlines at MLB.

It does amaze me how a team that seems to be adding runs like it's nothing had to go into extras in both previous games.

Let's blow up Chris Sale's arm for one more K. Good Lord, this kind of lack of judgment and poor leadership should be a suspension offense by the Front Office. yah its totally because JF is a dumbass and not possibly because SALE ASKED TO GO BACK OUT THERE

Sale being healthy for the playoffs is the best interest for the Sox in the future. More wear and tear on a meaningless inning is pure stupidity.

Farrell is always wrong. This is known. Honestly though, some people would get mad at him for drinking coffee in the morning. I don't think he's a great manager, but he's not the total failure this site likes to pretend.

He is already getting an extra days rest with the day off... It was a good moral booster for the team as well. Im sure if you were sale you wouldn't try and force your way back out there

Knew there would be at least one.
When it is universally being panned as a terrible managerial decision, it's probably a terrible managerial decision...like most of John's decisions.

More wear and tear on a meaningless inning is pure stupidity. what we don't know is if Sale wanted for reasons that have to do with confidence, or more work (if he felt that something clicked, for instance). I think the point is you can trust the player here, and not feel as thought your trading off future performance. We don't if that is the case. Being cautious isn't always the answer.

Holt is a really bad example. Compared to any other utility player on any other team. Given Marrero's defense and his possibly real ability to hit LHP, I think he could definitely be a full-time utility guy. Hell, I wouldn't be surprised if some NL team made him a starter.

Knew there would be at least one. When it is universally being panned as a terrible managerial decision, it's probably a terrible managerial decision...like most of John's decisions. No its not a terrible move.... 111 pitches is a normal outing for sale... Its not like he went to 160 pitches....

And we could have pulled sale at 80 pitches today and he could have struggled in his next start as well... Thats a bad argument And sale has been pulled early in his previous starts... so no Pitch count now does not = bad next start
