I was yelling at the tv to just put the ball in play because we were due a cheap hit.

Carson Smith it is, but I'd have someone else up to start the inning.

Random comment: I don't remember another Sept. in which the call-ups played as much of a role as this year. The EI games are a big part of that, of course.

Smith's stuff seems to soft for these three hitters.

Smith's stuff seems to soft for these three hitters. If he can throw the slider for a strike, he's golden. Plus, he just added 2 mph.

...one of these two teams will leave, 11 games over .500 in extra innings, this season. TWO Extra Inning STUDS enter (BOS 13-3; BAL 12-2, in extra inning games, YTD....next best is ARI, 6 games over .500, in extras, at 9-3))...only ONE leaves 10+ games over .500, "grinding, overtime", again!... ...your Boston Red Sox!! eff Buck and the MF O! (Cubs were an MLB best 5 games over in 2016 extras; both CHI teams were 8 games over, in 2015)

OK, after tonight, you all have to STFU about this team having no heart for the rest of the season.

Absolutely incredible win, just unreal. There have been some frustrating games this year sure, but these epic games are what counts. I really hope they hold on and win the division. They've earned it.

14-3, just amazing. Best part of the game though is that we eliminated the Orioles rom the division title.

We now have got a lucky new life on closers, I guess. Carson hanging in there at 93+ sure helped there ... Thanks baseball gods we needed that.

Glad the Sox won. But even as a West Coast fan, I'm getting tired of all the extra innings games. Also can someone explain the 3-man outfield hug for the win-dance-repeat mode?

That's the 19th game they've come back to win after being down after 5 innings, most in the majors.
Haha, MLB. Screw you and your crooked umps.

If we win the division, some of these games can be seen as defining wins of the season.

Huge, huge win.
Especially after that ugly Fister start.
3 up with 12 to play. If we win just 6, the Yanks have to win 75% of their games.
