Excited for the uproar over a one-game playoff when the Yankees lose to a vastly inferior team.

Not many times in my life did I want something more than I want the Twins to win tonight.

The Yankees are winning this game. I've never been more sure of anything in my life. The Twins suck and the 5th wild card is stupid.

Don’t remember where I saw this, but Twins are bad against heat. Anything above 95 and they bat .230 and slug .365. Going against a flamethrower like Severino, that’s not a great scenario.

Excited for the uproar over a one-game playoff when the Yankees lose to a vastly inferior team. I can't even see the possibility of it happening at all (I'd almost feel better about the '62 Mets' chances than the Twins).....but from your lips to God's ears.

When Santana or Berrios start, the Twins are a legitimately good team. Their starting depth and bullpen are bad, which is why they're only an 85-win team with that offense and fielding - heck, I'd say their position players are better than the Yankees, top to bottom, when Sano is healthy. But if Santana is sharp and can go deep then they can win a single game off of anyone.

The Yankees are winning this game. I've never been more sure of anything in my life. The Twins suck and the 5th wild card is stupid. Reverse jinx. Plenty of bad baseball teams beat good baseball teams on any given night. The MFY have everything to lose here. Stranger things have happened. Let's also remember the #1 unwritten posting rule on this website : the Yankees and winning should never appear together in a post. Let's also remember the #2 unwritten posting rule on this website: the word Yankee(s) shall never be transcribed in full. the preferred notation should be MFY. Also allowed are the Yucks, Yankmees or other variations.

The Yankees are winning this game. I've never been more sure of anything in my life. The Twins suck and the 5th wild card is stupid. I'm the complete opposite of this opinion. If the twins go all out as expected in this game, then they have a shot. Santana needs to pitch the game of his life and Berrios needs to follow Santana and possibly finish this game.

If nothing else this makes the Yankee fans squirm a bit and puts them at a disadvantage when it comes to starting Game 1 at Cleveland. Then again it might not matter who the Yankees start vs. Klu-bot anyway.

I dunno, I'm kinda wanting the Red Sox to beat the Yankees in the ALCS. I would be surprised if either the Red Sox or Yankees made the ALCS, more so the Yankees. I wouldn't be shocked if the Yankees knocked off Cleveland and the Red Sox knocked off Houston. If I'm making predictions I'm going with Cleveland and Houston, but I have a weird feeling that the days off will break Cleveland's ridiculous momentum and the Yankees could take them down. I also don't think the Sox will get swept the way they did last year. My prediction is they lose in 4, but again it wouldn't shock me to see the Red Sox take Houston in 5. Totally sounds like I'm hedging but my brain is at odds with my gut in these two series. I would be totally shocked OTOH if Minnesota beat NY tonight. My head and gut are in agreement here. And if it was NY/Boston, I don't have a great feeling about that matchup. I'm in the minority here but I think NY would advance to the series. For the most part I don't like the way the Red Sox played NY this year, and Chapman seems to finally have his act together.

Sources are saying they’ve seen 2009 Joe Mauer walking around the concourse of Yankee Stadium today.

29 pitches into this game, and Severino has his team in a 3-0 deficit and only has one out to show for it.

And Severino is out of the game after getting one out and giving up three runs. Leaves with runners on 2nd and 3rd.

Well I'm shocked. 1/3rd of an inning from Severino. Looking for more shots of the stunned stadium crowd.
