You want both long-term and yes Browns play has made a difference. He's been a beast. I agree but if they want to make a trade for a guy like Leonard or Davis one of those guys needs to be involved. I’m not even sure, they should make that type of trade. That's kinda of my point, not sure why everyone wants to make trades. Nevermind I don't think either player is available. Even if they were I don't get Leonard, I'd rather roll will what we have. Davis is different as he fills a need, gives us a dominate big, but he's not available. Given how fast Tatum and Brown have developed, it might be Hayward that is the player you trade in the future.

That play where Smart was out of control trying to dribble thru 2 Bucks players, then lost the ball, went to the ground and took it from 3 Bucks and instead of simply forcing a jump ball or calling Time out he finds Horford for a wife open dunk, was Marcus Smart in a nutshell.
If there was any way to have him do all the dirty winking plays he does and just cut out the fact the ball ends up in his hands so much at the end of shot clocks, it would be amazing.

After watching this series, if I were Golden State, I think I’d try and make a move with The Bucks to get Middleton and something else for Klay Thompson. Middleton is definitely a downgrade but not by a huge margin and the money saved would be massive, plus you can add another piece to things.
Part of me hope the Warriors go with 4 max deals so the Celtics have pressure to follow.

I do wonder what the Celtics are going to do with Morris, Baynes, and Monroe this off-season. You can make a case to try and extend Smart and Rozier somehow, and get rid of all three of the others and cut salary. Trading Morris and a first rounder might get you a pretty good big man.
That and the fact that Theis has proven that he could maybe step up and get more minutes next year wouldn't be a negative, I don't think.

It's not really trades, it's just scenarios. I don't expect a trade to happen for a while, unless something falls in the Celtic's lap. I really like this team and I want to see what it can do when everyone is healthy. Imagine a small lineup of Brown, Irving, Hayward, Tatum, and Horford on the floor. That is not gaurdable at times.

I bring back Baynes unless you can get another player like him. Next year with all that talent he'll be perfect.

Yeah, I imagine the Celtics will still have some sort of mid level exception to play with too. If Baynes came back on that mid level exception, than that would be great. Still, I like the idea of packaging up Morris with a first round pick to get something young and cheaper with more control.

There just aren't any available. Not in that price range that a team would trade for Morris and a late first. Teams aren't going to trade players like that for Morris. In theory it sounds great, but you find me a player and a team willing to do that. Maybe use Morris to move up in the draft to grab a Robert Williams type player, but he's going to take time to develop. Maybe a sign and trade for Favors, but he won't be cheap. Baynes is kinda perfect when Embiid and guarding a guy like him is going to be big in the future. We just need D and rebounding from a center that might not even play a ton against certain teams. We won't have the scoring issues we had this year, next year. Under the radar type guy is Nogueira who's a free agent on the Raptors. He's a defensive monster that can rebound, but doesn't play much because the Raptors have 3 real good centers.

I just love Baynes physical style, reminds me of Perkins. He's just a better athlete than Perk. Loved how he put Thon Maker in his place when he kept doing stupid crap. He then had a huge smile all the way down the court.

Baynes is perfect for the reasons UMass said plus he’s not a full mid level money guy.
Also, I keep Morris and let him play out his contract. The guy can score and defend. Next year he won’t be part of a rotation where no one else can really score. How often do you think Hayward and Kyrie will be on the bench together? Even if they are 2 of Brown, Tatum and Horford will be on the court at a minimum as will Terry. In any of those situations Morris is a third option not a primary one. He’s a guy I want when trying to make a title run.

The biggest issue next year is going to be getting guys minutes. Is Morris going to be ok with 20 minutes? Is Rozier going to be OK getting 20 minutes? Is Smart going to be OK playing 20 minutes?

In season I don't see it as a problem. Kyrie misses a lot of games. Who knows how much days off Hayward needs after the injury he just had. In the playoffs is when it becomes a issue when you shorten benches.

I was just thinking out loud there. There is probably not a big chance that Rozier wants to sign a cheap extension this off-season to get guarenteed money, but if the Celtics try it, maybe they could cut corners and keep both Smart and Rozier that way. I like keeping Baynes on that exception if you can though.
Edit- Plus, Morris only has one year of control left after next year.

I’m not dealing a guy for a lessor player because I’m worried about them being happy with their minutes if the team is completely healthy. It’s a good problem to have. Injuries happen these things get sorted out. If it were that much if an issue then you can make and in season trade but regardless I don’t expect any of those guys to be so upset they are causing problems.

I'm not making a trade based over minutes either. Great problem to have and maybe it does work itself out like this year with injuries. Just if they stay relatively healthy it's going to be an issue. Are those guys going to flip out? Most likely not, though I could see Morris speaking out. It's going to be hard on Stevens because I also don't think they just sit back and don't complain at all. Smart if he just signs his tender will be playing for a contract and I don't believe he'll like playing the lowest minutes of his career. Rozier is going to want to play, I think he's earned a lot of minutes. Morris has played a ton of minutes for years and will also be playing for a contract. Fully healthy this team is so deep, minutes will be hard to get.

Holy nuts that was a crazy shot by Lebron (after a ridiculous goaltending non call that somehow was even worse than the shot clock violation for us, what is going on with NBA refs?). Greatness still is undefeated (in the East).

I believe that the C's are going to end the series tonight. And I believe it will be Tatum and Brown leading the way.

Bad timing but can’t wait to see him either. Show starts at 10 though so I’ll see if I can get the women somewhere to see the Celtics.

Learning how to dribble should be on Tatum’s list of priorities for the offseason.
