Almost gave the thread the subtitle "Rooting for Laundry," but decided to hold back on the snark.
Anyway, let's do this.

Almost gave the thread the subtitle "Rooting for Laundry," but decided to hold back on the snark. Anyway, let's do this. That is understandable, good example of the premise. Makes me wonder why I like this team so much, just a little, not really. I like the draft picks, watching them is like having a new toy. I guess as a fan the "new toy" thought could include Kyrie, GH and the other new guys. I like the coach and the style of play. It is more old school rather than isolate and 1 on 1. I will enjoy the ball movement and unselfish play that the system calls for. Guys with high basketball IQs is what you hear about the players, we shall see. Stevens got a lot out of players with less talent, very interested to see that translate into more talented players. Horford and Gordon already play that way, will Kyrie? I think he will and most will be surprised at how good they are from the very beginning. Once again we shall see. They could get off to a so-so start just because of the schedule but that might not be a bad thing. Tough opponents and some losses will make them realize how far they have to go and how hard they need to work. Looking forward to tonight.

Give the man his long overdue COTY. Also give him the MVP, Comeback Player of the Year, Walter Payton Man of the Year, an Academy Award, Nobel Prize, Agency Honor Award, Presidential Medal of Freedom, a couple of goats and my first born baby.

My first post was in jest, mostly, but the idea still fascinates me. We will root for this team even though only 4 players are coming back, only one of them an everyday starter.

And neither of those guys ever wore the green before last season.
It definitely is weird that Marcus Smart is the longest tenured current Celtic.

Let's hope that isn't career ending, because that looked bad. Wow.

I really hope Gordon can recover from this from a career perspective - forget the season

That was unfair. I really hope he can come back like George was able to.

It's been like 45 minutes and I'm still sick to my stomach about it. Just horrible.

Man, Brown really looking amazing tonight. He's clearly still a work in progress, but I love what I'm seeing from him. Tatum also looks good, even though his shot looks a bit off, he's being able to find good open shots and not forcing much.
I like the young guys. I like them a lot.

Tatum got blocked after an offensive rebound when he took it to the hole really softly, now on that last layup he fully extended his arm away from the defender. Nice.
There was a play earlier in that close shot by Iman where Lebron just had one of the most egregious moving screens I've seen that was uncalled. Can't complain much about the refs tonight though, they're allowing a lot of contact on our defense.

Can’t be much softer on D than the Celts have been down the stretch.

I am going way out on a limb here in trying to find a silver lining to the injury tonight. If the C's were not really ready to compete with Lebron and the other elite teams for another yr or so then the young guys will get that many more minutes W/O a lot of pressure. So in the future the young guys are more battle tested when GH comes back. Yeah I know its a stretch but its all I Got.

Can’t be much softer on D than the Celts have been down the stretch. I deeply disliked putting Brown on Lebron, he clearly wasn't able to guard him. Should have been Smart, but it would have been Morris or Hayward so there's that.
