I want to believe I really do but it is hard to imagine that Horford, a 20 and a 21 year old along with Rozier are going to be enough to dethrone the king. I am already amazed at what they have accomplished. When you look at the matchups you can justify the optimism but then there is Lebron. Lebron is just a dude. We can beat the Cavs. We can also be beaten to submission in 4 games, but beating the Cavs is a feasible and tangible goal.

Yeah the Celtics can't get the number 4 and 5 pics after the lottery. They can't get the number 1 pick either. So they have a 3 percent chance combined at getting the numbers 2 and 3 pick. Got to love those odds.... That's not very good, but that's also not astronomically high. 3% is relatively high. While it may be more probable than not, one can only dream of the pandemonium among Celtics fans if we got the overall #2 or 3 pick this year. It would be pretty ironic to finally have the 1st overall pick, trade it away, and AFTER drafting Tatum also ending up with the highest overall draft pick (from the Brooklyn trade) from that one pick. Of course, it could go 3 which would still be stupid good. It would also be hilarious that we end up with the higher pick from the Kyrie trade. I know, I know, I'm dreaming here...........but we have a 3% chance. Now imagine landing the #2 pick and Ainge trades back to #5 to take Bamba, or Porter and gets another potential lottery pick next year

The funny thing is that the C's have enough assets to trade up and get a very good player if they wanted to. I think there are 7 guys worth trading up for.

Jaren Jackson would be such a perfect big for this team. It’s almost not fair. Guys a rim protecting, rebounding freak who can stretch the floor. It’s quite possible Ainge would have him and Donic top 2 on his board. He doesn’t go traditional.
Ayton has huge upside but I’m not sure Id want him if we had the first pick (which i know isn’t possible).

Ok let’s get final predictions before the series starts. While I do think the Celtics can win the series, I don’t think they will. A healthy Hill and a comfortable Love make the level James is playing at right now really difficult. I see a path to victory but I’m still predicting the Cavs in 5.... i know 5

How far would you go to get Jackson? Rozier and a lottery pick next year, what else would it take if Jackson is on the board still at 5 or 6?
How about the guy who was at the top before his injury, Porter, is he gettable for the same package?

Can Horford play Love to a draw? If so the C's can surprise but I see it being Cavs in 6.

How about the guy who was at the top before his injury, Porter, is he gettable for the same package? I don’t want anything to do with Porter. I need to do more in depth looks at Jackson, and I will do more after the lottery. But initial thought is, that yes I’d trade Rozier and that Sacramento pick for him. You’d probably have to put something else attached in case that pick becomes number 1 and it goes to Philly. If that happened you’d probably have to trade the higher of your first or Philly first in 2019, plus the Memphis pick, which is a lot for Boston because if that Sac pick doesn’t convey due to being 1 overall and you need to turn over the Memphis pick then you’re now out of high draft assets BUT you did that in return for a high draft asset so I’d cash Rozier in for that. Makes pay roll a lot easier (signing Smart will be cheaper) and you get your big. Porter could turn out to be an absolute steal for someone outside the top 5 and they should take a chance on him, but if I’m the Celtics, I’m not taking that chance at the second or 3rd pick with the other players available and I’m not trading the Sacramento pick plus more to get back into the lottery for him. On top of all the red flags, he’s another wing, which in Stevens system is fine but not something you gamble on with Hayward, Tatum and Brown already here. These are the guys I think should definitively go above Porter: Ayton Bagley Bamba Donic Jackson Listed Alphabetically.

Agree on those 5 and maybe even more. I think that is a testament to the strength of this draft. 5 to 7 bigs that will have good NBA careers with a few repeat allstars and perfect for todays game.

Celtics in 7, don't count this team out. Been saying they can beat any team in the East before the playoffs even started and won't change now.

The amount of bigs in this draft is crazy. On top of the guys already mentioned you have Robert Williams, Mitchell Robinson, Jontay Porter, Omari Spellman, and Brandon McCoy.
Brandon McCoy a freshman from UNLV isn't in anyones first round mocks. He's 7'1'', 7'3'' wingspan, 255 pounds. While not a great athlete like Ayton, he isn't a bad one either. Averaged 16.9 points, 10.3 rebounds and 1.8 blocks. Has a very good motor and can shoot the ball. He's raw, but wow that's a lot of production from a raw prospect.
I will take comfort in the fact that after we win the Championship next year, we might have 4 first round picks, with two in the lottery and one being top 5.
Also the idea of Rozier and the Kings pick for a pick this year is very interesting. You'd have to love that player, but if you love the guy like Tatum it makes total sense. It would would be the final piece in this team being a super team.
I look at Ayton and see a David Robinson type player. He's a beast, but I don't see anyone trading him.

Maybe he’s been mentioned but Wendel Carter should be on this list. I think he’s going to be a really good pro. He was over shadowed at Duke and won’t be a number 1 guy in the pros but he could be really good all around.

It amazes me how inept the Cavs are playing defense today. Not sure if that'll continue, but I'll take it as a Celtics fan.

The Celtics have played 75% poor possessions this quarter thus far. Last thing we need is Cavs being under 15 by the end of this thing. About to be under 20.

Lol at LeBron for not getting back on defense because he's too busy complaining to the refs that he got fouled.

Absolutely pitiful end to the quarter with LeBron on the bench. Would be an epic collapse to even make this a game.

The 28 lead cut to 14 to end the third quarter. I'd still take that after 3 quarters, but it still was a horrible quarter.
