After pretty much a lost season, CJ Chatham's hot start is nice to see. 1 for 3 with a walk and a double so far tonight has him at .417/.444/.542.

He's scheduled for tomorrow, according to MiLB.com, FWIW. For someone that’s unfamiliar with rotation manipulation, what’re some reasons that they would just push him back a day? In this case it might just have been erroneous reporting to MiLB; he pitched 4/8, so today would have been a day early. First 5 days through the rotation: Diaz Crawford 4 IP (Reyes 5 IP in relief, kind of a piggyback) [snow] Haworth and Duron in DH Scherff No day off, so next time through, including projections: Diaz Crawford Reyes (Haworth) (Duron) (Scherff) I'm not sure of the reporting chain by which information gets posted on the standardized MiLB sites, but not infrequently the game story will name a different starter for the next day's game than the header at the top of the page. Also I think in the lower levels you may have a roster that's composed a bit less by "we need five starters" and more by "we want these pitchers at this level." They can make it work with extra starters, especially where, say, Haworth and Crawford are just starting to pitch in the system, Reyes wasn't starting in Lowell last year, etc.
