I'm still looking for the angle that shows the tag. It was a quick ruling so I thought they would show the angle that showed the tag. Yeah it had to be obvious to be reversed that fast. Not sure what the NESN camera had, but the Angels feed had one where it showed the tag fairly clearly clipping the uniform up by the shoulder just before Nunez got the hand on the bag. He was out.

I wonder if JBJ has some kind of nagging injury. He has been rested quite often and taken out of the game tonight as well when he was killing every pitch.

Pujols ejected after throwing a hissy fit over a real strike because he hangs too far over the plate.

JBJ is going to be just fine. It's still a little early, but he has cut his k-rate dramatically this year to 12.3% as of his last PA. I'm tracking what he's done since he lined a single to left off of Severino in the 5th inning a week ago, and that's kosher because it looked so sweet that you and me and everyone else immediately wondered whether he had gotten himself into synch. 31 PA, .107 / .194 / .179 26 PA, .409 / .500 / .591. Officially en fuego.

Officially en fuego. Every single time he's in a funk, he comes out of it immediately after he starts hitting the ball to the opposite field. Every slump he's in, he's hitting ground balls to 2B over and over again on outside pitches. It should be easier for him to come out of those slumps if anyone noticed that. I'd have to think they do.

Hey pedrofan, Workman struck out 5 straight batters tonight. ![:D](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/grin.png) But the one who didn't hit the ball all the way to the first baseman! Workman has been good since that disaster outing a week ago, so it's nice to see that was a blip rather than something being wrong with him. Elias was also effective again tonight. The bridge to Kimbrel still worries me, but the overall MLB-ready depth for the bullpen is a strength.

Getting sleepy in Raleigh...I am good for one more inning. Fun times! (Celtics had a good night as well....not a shabby sports day for the good guys).

Brian Johnson just breezing. I feel so comfortable with the ball in his hands, for whatever reason. He's quick. He pounds the zone. I've always been a big Brian Johnson fan.

That last slider to strike out Simmons was dirty and on the black.

He *should* be a improvement there.

Only 8 players in MLB history have had a perfect day at the plate with 3+ HR and 2+ UBB.
Ralph Kiner, Gorman Thomas, Wally Joyner, Edgar Martinez, Bobby Higginson, Larry Walker (who added a 2B), Chris Young, and Andrew McCutchen.

Come on Nunez, that wasn't a great throw by Devers, but you have to catch the freaking ball Nunez.

Our bench would be a lot better constructed if he were an adequate corner OF rather than (or in addition to) an adequate 3B and bad 2B. He'd just have to be better than JDM out there. There's some evidence that he might be (DRS doesn't like his 322 innings, but UZR and Total Zone really like them).

How many did it against three different pitchers? Coming up ... This guy, by the way, is not jinxable.
