It's actually kinda fitting for them to get no-hit right now with how improbable this season has been.

I think that most teams in baseball have been no hit since the last time Boston got no no'd. Interestingly enough, one of the few teams that hasn't been no hit since Boston last got no no'd was Oakland.

Well at least I can still feel great that the Sox are still 17-3.

That was a simply stunning pitching performance - no-hitting a loaded team as hot as the Red Sox is a remarkable feat.
And we can still go 159-3!

Hopefully that pisses us off and we go on another 17-2 run.

I always wondered where our bad karma would strike. I’m guilty, you’re guilty, we’re guilty. That being said, my adrenaline for this team is riding so high that this barely broke my stride. I love this team.

No really, how was Leon's hit called an error?

Doesn't it seem so much easier for LHP to be dominating in this league?

I usually would be mad but I’m not because we are still 17-3. As long as we bounce back tomorrow

Congratulations to Sean Manaea. He now is there with Dave Righetti and Chris Bosio. Hope the Sox light him up the next time he pitches at Fenway. The law of averages is a powerful thing. Just about everybody had been scorching hot. This threw some cold water on it. Hopefully Price pitches well tomorrow and the Sox get back to hitting. Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't KC deal away Manaea to get Zobrist?

No really, how was Leon's hit called an error? If you're talking that bloop popup to SS - it should have been caught. A major league SS should catch that.

This feels like 10 losses. For me, it's the exact opposite. Opening day was 100 times worse. When a guy's this good, you just tip your cap and move on. But when you think about the three losses ... Your bullpen blows a 97.1% Win probability in the 8th inning. Your ace starter's pitching hand is numb with cold and he gives up 4 runs in 1 IP. You get no-hit by a guy who's been terrific.

No really, how was Leon's hit called an error? If you're talking that bloop popup to SS - it should have been caught. A major league SS should catch that. The rulebook says it's an error if it requires "ordinary effort." For years, it always seemed as if that was interpreted as "if you would have said "good play" if it was made, score it as a hit." But that's actually not a good standard. These guys are good, and they make "good" plays routinely. The logical standard is, it's an error if the play is made more than 50% of the time. I've noticed a trend in that direction by official scorers. The Leon ball would have been ruled a hit ten years ago (at least in an ordinary situation). Now it's an error even without a no-hitter happening.

Sandy Leon sports a gaudy .230 OPS.

That's anything but routine. In a way it kind of reminded me a little of Brady's pass to Welker in SB 46 against the Giants. It wasn't a routine easy catch but it should have been caught.

That's anything but routine. According to Rob Bradford's article, yes Semien has his back to the plate, but it wasn't Willie Mays trying to rob Vic Wertz.
