Oh yeah, I know. But he still started the rally that didn't happen.

Now I have to agree somewhat that he was out of the baseline, but the way they overturned it is ridiculous. I wonder if Cora can ask the umpires to overturn something and they just do it without review?
If an umpire did see him out of the baseline when it happened, then he should have called him out immediately. So this is just a bunch of crap.

I wonder if Cora can ask the umpires to overturn something and they just do it without review? Replay in baseball is so stupid - what is the point of having replay at all if plays like this (and many others) aren't reviewable and left to umpires second-guessing themselves three minutes later (only after the injury timeout)... If they reviewed the play and came to this conclusion that's one thing. This overturn was awfully executed and leaves one wondering if they would have recollected him as out of the baseline if there was not a no-hitter in progress...

Manaea's OPS also goes up 100 points after 75 pitches. If a comeback's in the works, it's this inning.

I wonder if anyone put money on an Oakland no-hitter for this game. I can't think of anything less likely.
Maybe it's less likely that they get their first hit with two outs in the 9th for a grand slam to take the lead.

Sale gutted out a halfway decent performance. Normally that's enough. Now let's get a hit so clear that not even the umps can take it from us.

Even when Sale sucks for Sale, he's still pretty damn good. Amazing that he got through 7 with what he had tonight.

I remember Righetti's no-hitter and Bosio's no-hitter. Given how the Sox have been on a hitting rampage, I can see Manea doing it tonight. It's an extreme law of averages type of thing.

Ran into a red hot pitcher with pin point control - first time this year. Still - one more inning to get him. Sale did his part on a night where he made a few mistakes.

Forget about the win it's survival time (don't get No'd).

Forget about the win it's survival time (don't get No'd). I'll gladly take a no hitter if the Sox walk 6 or 7 times next inning.

Moreland's been a great pinch-hitter in his career, so he might well hit for Lin.

I think that most teams in baseball have been no hit since the last time Boston got no no'd.

I would have preferred that Sale didn't come out for the 7th. On a night like this, might as well save bullets.
I honestly don't think the Sox will get a hit tonight. I am a believer in the law of averages. It's kind of due in a way.
Like marrcus, I don't really care about winning or scoring. I'd prefer they not get no-hit, but if they can win 17 of 20 and be no-hit, I'd settle for being no-hit 8 times this year.
