Osinski, Chatham, and Acosta have been finding success in Greenville on a team that has been struggling. Hopefully they can break the Drive's losing streak.

Any thoughts of getting Dalbec to start pitching again? Guy is hitting .210 in A Ball and has struck out 27 times in 62 ABs already. I thought he looked really good pitching in college at Arizona. I think I read somewhere at the time that he had no interest in pitching in pro ball, but at some point the guy has got to look in a mirror and maybe conclude this whole hitting thing ain't working.

Too soon. Far too soon, you're talking about 78 plate appearances in high-A. The BA and K% certainly aren't great, but as others have noted....he leads Salem in OPS by more than 60 points so its not a profile devoid of interest. The power is there, the walks are there, and if he can make gains to the strikeout rate and average, then there's a chance. Do I personally think its a good chance? No. But I'm willing to give him a year in Salem and probably next year in Portland before considering a conversion to pitching.

The Drive roster was completely remade today. I can't remember the last time a team switched out 4 roster spots in the same day. Pretty clear that losing their last 12 and 17 of their last 18 was unacceptable to the org, so they made some changes. Perhaps some of the 3 guys put on the DL are actually hurt—they could've been playing through nagging injuries or something and the team decided to have them sit and heal up. But still, this is striking.

Dalbec had a nice box score at least tonight.
He hated pitching though, right?
(I see that you said that... but yeah, the later he converts the harder it will be... it could be the diff bw a few years at ML minimum or washed out)

Mata was Mata tonight. 4 innings, one hit, 2 walks. Only one strikeout but I imagine a lot of weak contact in this game.
