Sox really effed up bringing him back up so quickly. He clearly wasn't ready from the reports we heard about his 2 outings in Pawtucket and Portland. He's really hurting this team now. Not sure if he's hurt, needs more time to get ready, or has turned into a pumpkin. It's frustrating. I'd much rather have Velazquez or Johnson or Beeks out there in his spot. Pomeranz needs more reps in Pawtucket. If he’s not DL’d after this game someone should be canned. He is not “building arm strength” and the roster of a contending MLB team is not the place to try. The only thing he’s building is a double digit ERA.

It's time to send JBJ down. Since the All-star break last season he has had 64 hits in 318 at bats with 87 strike outs and is hitting .201 with an on base % of under .280! Yes, he is a great defender but come on man... 201!? The league has him figured out, he's mostly hitting weak fly balls & 5 hopper grounders while striking out about 25% of the time. He needs to go down to AAA & figure things out. I would much rather see Moreland in the line up every day. Your thoughts? I guess you were unable to trade JBJ? Now you need to send him down? And you are really comfortable with JD Martinez in left and Benintendi in CF? Guess defense doesn't count in your world? defense counts. I am fine with JD in left. Betts should be in CF & Benintendi should be in RF. I doubt JBJ would bring much back in a trade

Hate to say it but when I was touting Velazquez in the off season I also predicted it could become controversial with the current rotation and guys coming back. Well if Pomeranz and Erod don't get it together in their next few starts some noise to make a change will start to rumble. Rodriguez his throwing hard an the Ch is very good so I'm sure he'll be fine but Pomeranz lack of velocity and the disappearance of his cutter are really worrisome

Maybe the pitching roster crunch can be alleviated a bit by sending Pomeranz to the DL. If he can't throw above 90 consistently - maybe he has a dead arm or something.
It's too bad Pomeranz and Porcello seem to be incapable of being good at the same time.
Meanwhile they might very well lose 2 of 3 at home to a crappy Royals team, unless they can actually figure out how to hit lefty pitching. The way they're going now, they will have squandered a 7.5 game lead of the MFYs in about 2 weeks. Guess this team won't be winning 112 games after all.
I'll guess that this team will straighten up and win 95 or 96 games or so but that might not be not enough to keep them out of the sudden death Wild Card game.

ERod has been fine. He's inefficient and inconsistent, but as a #4/#5, he's just fine.

I doubt JBJ would bring much back in a trade JD in left is brutal. Betts is the best RF in the game. The defense would take a major hit, more than you think. JBJ's bat has been awful, but he's not normally this bad. He'll have his month hot streak and then settle into mediocre offense. Combined with awesome defense it amounts to a decent player. For you to think that JBJ would bring very little in a trade is laughable. They'd get a decent player for him. The problem is the Sox don't have a major league OF ready to take his spot in AAA, and you'd also be destroying one of the major strengths on the team - its outfield defense. We get that you don't want JBJ around. You make it quite obvious with all of your trade proposals and demotions - I'm surprised you simply haven't declared that he should be DFA yet.

Pomeranz is getting beat to a pulp by a lousy offense. I don't want to see him start any time too soon.

Losing 2 of 3 from the Royals would be unacceptable.

The Royals will likely lose 85-90 games this year by design. Losing a home series to them is a felony.

How is it that this team comprised mostly of RH hitters have so much trouble against southpaws?

You can't hit LHP? Work the count and get the pitcher out, right? And this guys keep swinging at first pitchs junk and get weak contact while preseving his pitch count.

Should be clear to everyone that the Sox should break the bank for Betts, and Bogaerts as well.

Can they extend Mookie please rather than running off this winter to buy Harper or Machado rather than "we'll think about Mookie later"?
