Maybe he’ll opt out!

The last pitch was a strike and now the Sox need to keep scoring. This blows.

May not be a popular opinion here, but that would not make me particularly upset. I think his best years are behind him, and Boston simply isn't a great fit for him. But...let's see how things pan out the rest of the season (these are painful games to watch though)

Vazquez is so overrated folks. His blocking skills is actually bad.
The Sox should trade for a catcher. Let Swihart catch. Anything.

CV needs to get it together. You have to block that ball.

Wow. What an absolute mess of a game. Glimmer of good news - the CV screw up on the low pitch prevented a grand slam....

Lead in the division is officially 1 game. Game. Set. Match.

That ball the ump gifted the Rangers on Price's last pitch was worth 5 runs.

Game. Holes starting to emerge between the defense and the bottom of the order. I'm hoping Price's problems is just a couple of bad games but...

Got the Celtics on another tab - about to tie the game after a rough few first half stretches. So there is that!

Lead in the division is officially 1 game. Game. Set. Match. Toronto is not that far behind. The Sox face the MFYs and Jays next week.

It's amazing how great and how bad David Price can be.
When he came back last year in Sept he was great. He was dominant in the post-season and excellent in his first two starts.
Then he lost feeling in his fingers for the start against NY and has been lousy since.
Meanwhile the Yankees had another great comeback win so what was once a 7.5 game lead might will be down to just one game.
I think by the time the Sox leave Yankee Stadium, the Yankees will have overtaken the Sox for first place meaning that the greatest start ever and the 7.5 game lead will have come apart in just a few weeks.
That totally sucks.

I have to think with Price that some of it is in his head. Either that, or there are physical and/or mechanical things going on that are leading to extreme inconsistency

Strike 2 to Swihart in his last at bat was the strike Price couldn't get and as someone pointed out, it cost the Sox 5 runs.
The Sox are ticked off in the dugout and have a right to be mad.

Umpiring in general (ball strike calls) probably as bad as I've ever seen so far this season....

I could read Cora's lips there. He was saying: "My good sir, unless my eyes deceive me, I am quite certain that you called a pitch in that very location - nay, a smidge higher in the strike zone - a ball, when it was our man on the mound! I fear a whiff of contradiction, a discrepancy, if you will, has found a malign purchase in your umpiring on this night!"
Or something like that.

I have to think with Price that some of it is in his head. Either that, or there are physical and/or mechanical things going on that are leading to extreme inconsistency I hope you’re right. The pessimist in me wonders if the explanation is that Price is almost 33 with a lot of miles on his arm, and he just doesn’t have the stuff he had 2-3 years ago. Now we have a front row seat to the decline for the next 4.5 years.

Minor held them to 3 run and he was on the ropes. Price didn't even compete.

Swap Price and Johnson. It may help both with Johnson on regular starts and Price in the pen where he excelled at the end of last year.

So when can I expect Price to the DL for being bad at baseball and the Beeks era dawning upon us?

Watch out - if Price reads this thread, he may throw another little hissy fit.
