With Stankiewicz returning to the rotation, the Sea Dogs basically are running a seven-man rotation right now, given that Kent has started 5 of his last 6 appearances, with the sixth being a piggyback start. I'm sure Stankiewicz or someone will return to piggybacking Lakins after the doubleheader on Saturday (or Lakins will move to the bullpen, perhaps), but just an interesting situation.

No Espinal again for Salem. Second game in a row. Anyone know where exactly he was hit?
Netzer is 2/3 with a double so far today. Average has come up to .305 thanks to him hitting .348 through the month of May up to the point.
Chatham also showing the hitting skills that made him a 2nd round pick. .340 with a .912 OPS in 12 games since his promotion. And he’s playing SS again.

Not a great few weeks on the "hopefully Sam Travis steps up as a first base option for 2019" front. He has struck out in each of his last 14 games. 27 strikeouts total in that stretch, four hits, giving him a 077/.125/.154 slash.
The other first baseman of the future is having a better run. Double and a homer today for Ockimey, getting him up to .255/.381/.445. The strikeout rate is really depressing the batting average, but he's been doing everything else well.

Yup, I was checking the Eastern League leaderboard and he was 5th in Walk rate and the guys ahead of him were older and he drew two more BBs today. The on base skill is definitly there considering now the fairly extensive record. If the power shows up, I'm OK with being a TTO type of hitter, defense need to improve though

Questions on a few prospects who pitched today:
1. I know it is early in his transition to the bullpen but the recent results for Trey Ball have not been encouraging. It has been raised before but if this continues do they try him with the bat? Have the red sox ever done an in season conversion? I assume they would have to send him back to Ft. Myers? Any ideas on this...and
2. Jake Thompson: For a kid who was an older draftee who was the ace for a top ranked oregon St. team and a 4 year college contributor who put up lights out numbers his senior year, is his struggles at Salem surprising? Are the sox tinkering with his delivery or pitches at all that we know of?

Has there been any information on Pedro Castellanos? I know getting injury information out of low A is difficult, but do we have any idea? It’ll be three weeks tomorrow.

Good to see Pedroia getting the O'fers out of his system while in the minors.
